Set in beautiful surroundings, Eric and Caroline provided us with a beautiful room. Eric's cooking was exceptional in every way. We would thoroughly recommend taking advantage of the evening meal as it was probably one of the best we've had, and breakfast was a close second, with perfectly cooked boiled eggs!

We (couple) stayed at Gites de Combarel in mid September when the nights are already a bit cooler and the days are still (very) warm.
We were received by the friendly owners upon arrival who showed us to our Gites (La Grangette) which was clean, beautifully restored and brought to todays standards (Nice kitchen with oven, microwave, coffeemaker and sufficient pots, pans and utensils. Nice bathroom). The very thick walls did a great job in keeping the heat outside hence inside was always comfortable.
Combarel is rural (one and a half km away from the main road) and quiet but can be easily reached by car via a small road. It is surrounded by forests and meadows. The place always has a spot in the sun but with the many trees, shade is never far away. Nice and well maintained pool for a refreshing dip. Sitting on the patio at dusk we enjoyed the deer coming by.
Wifi: Difficult inside the gites but sufficient outside and at the pool (but who needs a lot of wifi in such a place).
On the location: Figeac (beautiful old town) is close by and supermarket is ˜15minutes away. Places like Gouffre de Padirac, Saint Cirque Lapopie, Cahors, Castelnau-Bretenoux are all well within an hours drive.
When visiting the same area we will likely come back to Gites de Combarel.
