Residence le Petit Paradis is very well named. In a dormant and rather abandoned looking town we were pleasantly surprised as soon as we came through the gates of this not-so-petite domain. The hosts are working very hard to make everything neat and clean again. There is a lot of terrain right along a pleasant murmuring stream with even a little waterfall. There is a café where can make music or listen to it. And it is well tucked away from the busy Route Departamentale that crosses town. Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated and the bathroom very well equipped and comfortable. We also spent a very enjoyable evening with the hosts at their Table d’Hote where we could sample excellent food and wine. Next morning a very nice and abundant breakfast was served. A very pleasant stay though much too short.

Sebastian is such a wonderful host. The guesthouse is clean, beautifully designed and so welcoming. The gardens are gorgeous to spend time in, with the addition of the pool it is pure magic. The breakfast is made fresh daily with lovely touches of homemade items and things sourced from the town. The rooms are large, beautifully decorated and with modern fittings for such a historic building. The dinner offered as additional to the room is amazing, Sebastian cooks beautiful food with local produce and makes every night an experience. A great way to meet people staying as well. Parking was very easy and the location is really central to a lot of the exploring and walking you can do in the area. Car or bike is a must.

The hosts were nice and the cats roaming around the property are friendly. There is no AC but a fan and in the mountains it was a comfortable temperature of 22C at night.

We arrived in Caunes Minervois On a cold and rainy December day and had had a very warm welcome at the hotel. Our room was big, high ceilings, old fashioned, typical French, lovely and warm and just perfect.
The room had a separate toilet and a shower room with the most amazing local Caunes-Marble wash basin. Which makes perfect sense as the Hotel La Marbrerie was the old marble manufacture.
When arriving at the property we were puzzled where the hotel would be, but behind the gate there it was… the little paradise. The location is beautiful with a large garden and great outside terrace for a wine or a beer. Our room Shyraz (all named after great wines) was spacious and the bathroom was almost as large as the room with our own jacuzzi. Frank and Liesbeth took great care of the guests and provides us with a perfect breakfast.
