Staff were incredibly friendly & helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The gym is lovely, hot tub wonderful, pool gorgeous.The gardens are beautiful and the whole setting is very romantic. There are several dedicated cycle paths nearby. We visited an excellent climbing gym and there’s also a wake board park, surfing and many other things to do nearby. Breakfasts were a feast every day! Would love to return soon :-)

Love Lacanau.
Love Lacanau. It has the best atlantic beaches or the quieter lakes. The whole areas is covered in pines and smells beautiful. Lacanau ocean has smart shops and restaurants, some markets, and a rally good atmosphere.

Very friendly shopkeepers, good visiting butcher and fish dealers, good supermarkets. Very friendly local cafe/bar/restaurant = no stress, and warm atmosphere and not exploitative. Banks, Post Office, and super vets. 7/8 minute easy drive from holiday site. One minute drive to lake where there is a restaurant/bar/cafe. Loads of places to visit. Loads of lovely beaches within short drive. Site perfect for young children to run around, but pool quite deep but spotless. Lovely place to take a dog. I loved it. Lacaunau beach is super. I'd imagine that the town in height of summer would be crammed , but beach stretches for miles. Vast difference between Lac. town and Lac. beach/town.RodUnited Kingdom - 8.0Scored 8.0
Lacanau is a holiday destination 30 miles West of Bordeaux .
Lacanau is a holiday destination 30 miles West of Bordeaux . Totally surrounded by large forests and close to the coast. Ideal for both off road and road cyclists. You can drive through Bordeau to get there or better still use the small car ferries across the beautiful Gironde Estuary. Also check out the vineyards for which the area is so famous. There is plenty of accommodation of all types from expensive houses right down to the inexpensive holiday lets at the Marina de Talis on the main road.

The hosts thought about all details; coffee pods, some food, oil, all cooking appliances are available even if we did not cook. They even have a cupboard of games and stationery; that made the kids super happy! Everything was very clean and hosts were very friendly and responsive. It is one of the best places to stay in Lacanau. It is very close to city center with many eating options.CananLuxembourg

We came with no car which was not a problem because everything is nearby and you can rent a bike to go to the lake. From the airport of Bordeaux, you can reach Lacanau océan by two busses: the first bus is going to Bordeaux and there you can take bus 702. The apartment and the balcony are very spacious with a very nice view. The airco definitely came in handy! The staff were friendly.

Villacanau is located near two supermarkets and within short distance to the lake, however, its situation is also quiet and secluded. The beach is an idyllic bike ride away through the pine forest.
