Very cute cabin on a working farm not far from Verdun. We enjoyed seeing the cows and horses in the field in the evenings. The apartment is clean and spacious and has everything you need for a comfortable stay.
The Hotel de la Gare is located in the historic town of Saint-Mihiel, in the western Lorraine. It offers en suite guest rooms with a TV. Free Wi-Fi is also available.

Friendly staff and helpful. there was no kettle but they gave me 2 mugs and let me use their microwave to heat water for tea. Bed very comfortable. Plenty of heating. The TGV meuse stop is right outside so arriving from Paris couldn't be easier.

It is a cosy little house in the courtyard of an old townhouse. It is incredibly calm. There was a lot of space to park in the street outside. The centre of St Mihiel is a 10-minute walk away through historical streets. The Church of St Etienne with the famous group of statues by Ligier Richier is 2 minutes away. The house has everything you need including a washing machine and a dryer. The owner is super friendly and when we needed to change something about the heating, he was there in a few minutes to fix it. We really liked our stay there!

Great host: very friendly and smily. Our family enjoyed breakfast with other people at one big table - it was interesting experience.
Comfortable room with all needed things: we had only one night there but it was enough to understand that it's a great place to stay. I believe it's the best option for 1-2 days stay because you don't have much to see at this area.
Great quality/price object. Would like to stay there another time!

The garden is nice and very peaceful.
At night you can even hear a tawny owl making his sounds in the environment.
Also the gite is very nice, well equipped with what you need for doing some cooking yourself. Everything placed in the gite is well thought of, how it is arranged.
Also the art that Francis is making is great, his earlier work is also in the gite.
Both hosts are very friendly and calm.

For a small village in this area of France - that I know well - there are quite a few facilities: there is a small grocery shop, a snack bar and a restaurant. There is also a bakery but unfortunately it was closed during our visit. On sunday there is a food truck parked on the square you can buy good pizza's here that are prepared in a wood oven. Withing 10 minutes car drive you are in the middle of large forested areas. There are many historic sites nearby, especially related to the 1st world war.
