I booked our 10th wedding anniversary here.

I booked our 10th wedding anniversary here. We stayed for 4 nights and that was the right length of stay to explore the area. The food at the hotel is good, but it lacks variation for breakfast. There is not much else for breakfast around, although you might prefer to go to a local bakery for breakfast. Staff is friendly and the rooms are clean. There is public transport by bus, we came by car. Parking was not a problem on the local roads in September. I guess, it could become an issue in the season.

The city is great for a quiet family vacation.

The city is great for a quiet family vacation. The beach is clean and quite large. Rescuers are present (some crews are too fanatical about your safety and forbid even approaching the water). It is possible to collect wild mussels. The city has many parking spaces, very good supermarkets, and pharmacies. There are many options for walks, a very nice park with livestock and a good playground.

Bad experience, wild beach, sandstorm all day, very windy, seriously, do not go there, no fast food around. We booked two night in that city and we ended up going back home the next day, very disappointed. Worse experience ever, cold beach in July

Ate twice at L'Entre Deux, both times very, very good cooking, friendly management, doubles as the local bar. Closed Wednesdays. Stayed at Hotel le Flobart [our 9th time I think]. Now under new management and although outwardly unchanged, the atmosphere is not the same, very quiet, didn't seem to have the same local vibe. Watch this space! we will certainly return to Le Portel.

The host was really nice and welcoming and spoke good enough English to have a good conversation. We arrived in le Portel for 3pm and was allowed to check in for 5pm. The beachfront on the doorstep was an excellent way to pass the couple of hours. The 2 days we spent here was very comfy and relaxing for which we then began our journey to Brittany (excellent for a stop over location). The host was really accommodating of our small dog Gracie too which was lovely.

The hotel member of staff was so friendly and accommodating. So respectful of my desire to try to use my French. Room overlooked the river with a little balcony. It was a short walk to the bars and restaurants. We ate in the at the hotel and the food was incredible. Very small selection on a choice of two set menus but each dish was exquisite. I can honestly say it was one of the best meals I have ever had.

It was great, for the price of my normal hotel, I had a spacious mobile home with parking right outside, a sea view , a large fridge freezer and a well equipped kitchen. Very good bathroom . The bed was comfortable, there was no bed linen but luckily I had a full set of bedding with me. The host was very helpful. I will definitely stay there again . Nothing really

This is our third stay here over the years en route from Scotland to Catalonia. We really like this little hotel as it is cosy and friendly. We have always enjoyed the good food on offer in the small restaurant. The hotel is situated well: after arrival we tend to take a walk before and after dinner as it is near to the seafront and some pleasant bars.

Fantastic location in a quite town yet very close to all the attractions of Cote d' Opale. Le portel is very charming, has all the shops you need and a wonderful beach. The apartment itself is beautifully designed and very clean and modern. The host was very nice and responded quickly to all our questions.

Le Portel's beach, about 5 minutes of walk, is very nice in spite of the place itself (both Boulogne and its suburb) are industrial and ugly.
