The location was finé and the host attentive. Breakfast was continental (toast, croissant, pain au chocolat, yoghurt, coffee or tea). We chose to eat in for dinner, and the first night’s meal was excellent. The host had to be away from the hotel the next day so the meal was not of the same standard, but we would eat in again on a future visit.

Me and my wife had a wonderful stay and enjoyed very much their hospitality, thanks to Sue and Mark.. They are very kind and welcoming, made us feel like home.
Freshly baked viennoiseries, home-made yoghurt and jam, fruit juice and choices of hot beverages for breakfast, it's was a good start of the day!!!
Room is clean and spacious ( good for a few days to a week) , water and kettle are provided as well.
We had quality chats with them and they told us a lot of local information.

Peaceful location on the outskirts of Thiviers. Very good set up with access to fridge and microwave. Very friendly owner and lovely traditional french breakfast.

Everything was immaculate. A little home away from home. The grounds and the accommodation were wonderful. I didn't want to leave. The bed was so comfortable and the bedding was a good quality, nice hot shower too.

The studio was equiped with everything you could want. Very good coffee machine. Breakfast was supllied as well. Plenty of tea and coffee. Bed was very confortable. Sound proving was very good. It is near the road but we did not hear road noise. The host was very helpful and quick to respond. Brilliant place. Definately would rent again.

I don't know why Book.com have homed in on Nanthiat, which is only a tiny hamlet, with church square and little bakery, however it is the closest to the Mill.
We would prefer to write about Thiviers, the local market town, 3 -4 miles away, which has shops, restaurants, and the local train station, and a lovely church facing the market square, where the market is held every Saturday., with coffee bars overlooking it.
On the road to Thiviers there is a local swimming lake for tourists and locals.
Brantome is only 15 miles away, a beautiful island historical town, with an Abbey/monastery built into the cliffs at the edge of the town, and an interesting museum. Canoes can be rented here.
There are Chateaus and grand homes at various nearby locations.
Louis 14 Chancellor had his stunning summer chateau approx 30 km away, well worth a visit.
