Booked literally couple of hours before arrival. Only about one km from A28 - perfect! Very friendly staff throughout. The tent/pod was brilliant. Coffee machine, fridge with small freezer, lots of sockets, mirror, hanging space, covered area outside with table, chairs and loungers. We were right next to the lake, so setting was perfect. The bed was really comfy. There is a restaurant on site and we had dinner and breakfast there - both excellent. Swimming pool looked lovely, although we didn't use it the night we stopped. Shower block was nice and clean with plenty of hot water. There is a Super U literally as you turn off the A28 for fuel and any bits you might want. Would definitely use this as a stop over again.

We loved the host, the fire was already on, we felt very welcome. Communication was great, the door was open. The house may be simple, but has a lot of room. Our dog loved the enclosed backyard and frontyard. New bathroom (very comfortable) and great kitchen (dishwasher, lots of pots and pans and bowls, glasses). Very quiet location next to the farm.

The location is something special! The castle is being renovated and on arrival we were shown some of the parts that still need to be completed, including parts of the towers that date bake to the 1300s. The room had its own bath and shower but for the toilet we needed to go to the stairwell. Not a real problem, we will just call it part of the character of the stay.
The art around the building as well as the hunting trophies going back to the 1800s in the stairwell adds a lot of character and I guess feel of a bygone era.
The stairs were not too steep to walk up, even with luggage.
We travelled with a dog (and were not the only ones at that time). The dog enjoyed the field and park-like surroundings.
