Pretty much everything! A fantastic and ongoing restoration of a lovely old farmhouse in a peaceful setting. Spacious, beautifully furnished room with a huge comfortable bed. An amazing home cooked evening meal from Jo with a fabulous breakfast the next morning including lots of home made delights. We loved sitting in the garden with a glass of wine after a long day travelling.
Probably the best value for money of anywhere that we have stayed.
Our hosts could not have been more welcoming.

Easy to find, parking onsite and on street, very quiet and lovely garden. Staff absolutely lovely as was the food at dinner. Breakfast OK. Big comfy beds, clean room, odd shower head though.

Beautiful traditional hotel set in a beautiful traditional village. Very clean, good facilities especially for myself as I am disabled. The food was very good and we had a selection of different dishes for dinner. The breakfast was good but limited ie: prepared fruit would have been nice. Nico was very friendly, efficient and attentive.
The Relais de Barbezieux is located on the N10 road, exit Barbezieux Centre? just a 5-minute drive from Barbezieux-Saint-Hilaire town centre. It offers soundproofed accommodation.
The Hotel Marjolaine is located in Roullet –Saint- Estèphe, at 15 minutes from the city centre of Angoulême. All the rooms are comfortable and simple, equipped with a telephone and satellite TV.

The deeply rural environment without any nearby facilities...
The deeply rural environment without any nearby facilities was attractive. But on arrival we were told the apartment was not ready only because people were due the next night. It was get out and good luck, despite having confirmation, We were stranded. With a marginal wave, the "manager" told us to move on, pointed vaguely to a village somewhere beyond, where we found no hotel. Be wary of first-timers, and maybe even rogues.
