Liz & Ian are the most gentle, empathetic hosts who welcomed me at their magnificent location in this pitoresque Breton valley, which I explored. Graciously discovering that not only the Côte Granit Rose is the sole magical place within Brittany.

We had chosen this hotel for an extended family get-together. We had made separate bookings for each family and so it must have been a bit confusing for the hotel staff. But they received us in a warm and friendly way. Also, a few of our people checked in late and hungry (past restaurant closing time), but the served the hot and delicious pizza from the freezer. We really liked that.
The bar / restaurant was spacious and looked very cheerful. It is in a very quiet part of Guingamp and the old city center with its medieval church was nearby, as was the train station.
This hotel is set in Kerprad commercial zone, just a 10-minute drive from the centre of Guingamp and 30 km east of Saint-Brieuc. It offers an LCD TV with Canal+ satellite channels in its rooms.

Very easy to find and lots of free on-street parking nearby. Lovely old building with bags of character. Our room was very big, with a double bed and a single. Lots of storage space and the bathroom was fine. Decor in the room was quite basic but had everything we needed. Free filtered water, to save on plastic bottles, was a nice touch. The owner is friendly and helpful. Didn't take up the option of breakfast but we did have dinner there, which was excellent - French, but with some quirky touches that made it stand out. Quintin is a lovely place for a short visit, with some really interesting bars - we loved it.
