There were plenty of very pretty old villages to visit in the area and we didn't get time to see them all. We particularly recommend Penne with it's ruined castle and Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val, especially on market day. You'll almost certainly need a car to make the most of everything the area has to offer. For a good value meal, try Fourchettes et Clé at Parisot (20 minutes away).
