The Stargazer Studio could not be more central to the many and varied attractions in the Dordogne / Vézère area. If you are looking for a secluded, comfortable retreat, then this is for you. The accommodation comprises a living / kitchen and bedroom separated by a minimal room divider. The bed is very comfortable and the kitchen / living room more than adequate particularly if you proposes to eat out locally. You will, given the weather, spend most of your time on the 'private' terrace overlooking the large swimming pool. Jason and Janet are perfect hosts. They strike the perfect balance of welcoming you to their home and letting you relax quietly in the most perfect environment. They have excellent recommendations to make about local restaurants. I would not hesitate to recommend The Stargazer Studio...it lives up to its name - take your telescope...it is a perfect, slightly quirky destination with great hosts. I'd certainly go again like a shot!

Breakfast was fantastic! It was served in the most stunning outside cafe area under such lovely trees. Air conditioning in the room was a real treat as it was boiling outside! A Beautiful place with gorgeous gardens.

This small hotel is located on a leafy green countryside property in the heart of Perigord. We stayed 5 days and picked it because of its close proximity to sightseeing destinations, its 4-star amenities, and its free parking, which is hard to find in the towns. Our end room on the main floor was delightful. The bed was comfy and the air conditioning was excellent at overcoming the unseasonably hot weather until it broke one night. Fortunately, the very capable hotel engineer was available to fix the problem immediately. Formidable!
Dinner was available every night at the hotel restaurant and we ate there on two of our nights. The food was very good, especially the veloute soup courses, but perhaps a bit too traditional Perigourdine for our tastes. Breakfast was also good, with a choice of hot egg dishes to supplement the usual continental breakfast faire. The marinated prunes with cinnamon and cloves were particularly good on the yogurt. Aperitifs were available before or after dinner in the charming lounge.
We did not have a chance to use the swimming pool but it was very popular with most of the guests. The ponies in the field next door were adorable!

Lovely hotel run by a delightful couple, Michelle and Ann-e. They could not do enough for us and made our stay very special. The hotel has a echo of the Far East as the owners have constructed a Chinese garden which is wonderful to wander around.
Domaine de la Vitrolle is a 17th-century manor, located 1 km from the castle in Limeuil. You can relax in the season swimming pool or explore the surrounding vineyards.
