The property itself was clean and tidy and extremely comfortable, and there are lots of facilities for the children and the owners were welcoming and kind. Our children were free to run around burn off steam and explore.

A beautiful - and beautifully restored - chateau situated in Le Thiel, and highly attentive, considered and thoughtful customer service to match. While some minor aspects of the chateau restoration work were ongoing at the time of this review, the chateau guest rooms felt complete. Our room was very tastefully decorated and well designed with some luxurious flourishes, such as plush bathrobes. The complimentary champagne provided on arrival was quite simply, delicious. Likewise the generous continental breakfast provided the following morning that included freshly brewed coffee and tea, fresh juice, beautiful homemade jams, locally sourced brioche, homemade pancakes, fresh fruits and a selection of fresh pastries and toast. A large part of the perfect score provided in this review can be attributed to the highly attentive (balanced with perfectly discrete) customer service we received during our stay. Our host (the owner) provided helpful local information and arranged a dinner reservation for us at an excellent local-ish restaurant Germaine & Alice - the menu was truly delicious and the restaurant deserving of its own 5 star review. We were treated like royalty and felt very special throughout our (sadly) short stay.

The spa facilities are a real bonus with this hotel. A nice little gym too. The hotel is clean and the restaurant is decorated beautifully. Good outdoor seating areas to relax. Good room and shower. Decor looked fresh and new. Very comfortable bed and pillows.

Hotel des Thermes is in a league of it’s own. Old school-style and standards. The big feature is being served dinner in the palatial dining room where all the owner’s values are echoed: peace, comfort and simple but excellent cuisine. We had his speciality which is most delicious cous cous I’ve ever eaten cooked by the owner himself. Our room was impeccably clean and comfortable. Great shower and everything we needed. All this for an incredibly modest sum. I will be returning as a treat with my daughter in the spring. Can’t wait!

This is a family run Auberge located in a quiet village. Our room was spotlessly clean as was the whole place, we had an en suite which was perfectly adequate for an overnight stay en route to our destination. The owners are a delightful couple and Madame is a tour de force in the kitchen. We were a late booking but despite the fact that Madame was cooking for the whole village that night and frankly run off her feet, she still managed to put together a meal for us that was worthy of any upmarket restaurant, oeuf en cocotte with smoked salmon followed by king prawns in an amazing sauce - which sadly I never got the name of! The wine selection is excellent and my partner was more than happy with the draught lager. The auberge was slightly off our route but I had read a review saying it was worth a detour, so thank you to that reviewer for the heads up.
