Clean, nice view, nice walks, good facilities, host very pleasant, little stray (?) cat who befriended us on arrival. We liked the blinds to leave as much or as little light coming through as you wished. Nice little restaurant within walking distance, supermarket not far, and easy access to the motorway.

Very spacious room. Bed very comfortable. Staff very accommodating, we were travelling from Austria and got delayed in severe traffic in Germany meaning our arrival was very late. They did everything they could to make sure we got late check in.

We wanted to stay for a couple of night in this charming town and the hotel was an ideal base for exploring it. Good central location: although it is near the main road, it was not noisy at all in our room. The room was clean, spacious and well furnished with good bathroom (bath, ready hot water). The staff were very pleasant and obliging in all respects. It is possible to take a pet (fee of 10 euros per night). We didn't have the breakfast so can't comment on that. The decor is perhaps not the most modern, but this was not a concern for us. We would certainly re-book.
Just 1 km from both the A25 motorway and Bailleul city centre, the Hotel Fleur de Lys provides parking and Wi-Fi free of charge to all guests.

We booked 2hrs before we arrived because it said it had late check in until midnight and was a good location to the motorway.
When we got the barrier 11pm it was closed and the touch screen pad to put our booking ref did not work. I called the number and it went to an answer machine. After 20 minutes of frustration I finically got a call on my mobile and I was told by the receptionist that they had been a asleep!
They obviously were not expecting us! The room was clean but only one of light bulbs worked and the showers did not work but it did have a bath.
It is a real shame as the place was perfect in many aspects but was let down by a few things. Would I stay again - maybe.

Nothing to dislike at all. Beautiful huge room. Beautifully furnished. Bed was huge. Walk in shower fabulous. Huge bath. Towels provided. Two washbasins. Small individual seating outside area per room. Lots of other seating areas dotted around also. Kettle etc. Key to entrance to come & go. Lovely farm surroundings. Food all home made from Maries farm. Breakfast superb with lots of choices. Can choose what time you wish to have breakfast. Air conditioning. Very peaceful place. Marie was an excellent host. Definitely worth every penny, we would have happily paid more. Would absolutely definitely come back. We would rate our stay as a definite 10/10!!

Regretfully, we arrived in Steenwerck during a local holiday...
Regretfully, we arrived in Steenwerck during a local holiday period hence most of the town was closed. However, our intention to visit a WW1 Allied Cemetery was fulfilled. We motored to an adjoining town of Balleiul and visited a renowned restaurant, of which there was a choice. There is considerably less traffic on French roads generally so motoring is a pleasure.
