I booked a room for one night for me and a friend, based on the Chateau’s location, interesting appearance, dog-friendly status, and availability of food - described on booking.com with a restaurant and with a banner “breakfast included”.
One of these things lived up to the advertised property - “location” which was stunning - but all other aspects were sorely missing. The interiors of the chateau, including our room, were very clean and quirky, which was fun to encounter initially.
We had a laugh at the situation and agreed that the experience was like spending 12 hours in a Hitchcock film. We loved walking around the grounds and local footpaths, and had a splendid meal of local meat at the restaurant of Hotel La Reconce, which I’d highly recommend, unlike the Chateau.

Thérèse and her husband were great hosts. The rural setting is just breathtaking, very tranquil and calming. Dinner and breakfast were amazing, Thérèse couldn't be more hospitable and made our stay special.
