The property is remotely located at approx 4000 ft above sea level which is part of it’s appeal. The rooms are basic as described but very clean and spacious. We had a family room featuring a mezzanine floor with two single beds for the kids upstairs and a double downstairs. There is no aircon but the design of the building and the elevation means that you don’t need it. Night temperatures are cool to make for a comfortable nights sleep. We ate in the restaurant for our evening meal and breakfast and the food was excellent for both. As other have noted local produce is offered and was enjoyed by all of us. The views are excellent.

Located a 10-minute drive from the A75 Motorway access, at the foot of the Margeride Mountain, Auberge Les Volpilières features a swimming pool, a garden and a terrace.

nice hotel, the menus and everything were only in French, quite often we can work out what the choices are but had to google translate. Food so so, wouldn't eat dinner there if I visited again.

Property and room were very clean and neat. Jerome, who welcomed us was outstanding and funny!! Great customer service, remembered my name every time and ensured we were comfortable. Breakfast the next day at 5 Euros is great. Nice hot water and comfortable bed. Good value for money. For all the other comments about it being a small room I think is unfair as you see the room size when booking it. The town of St Flour is just so pretty and quaint. Hotel just out of town but next to a good Carrfour and McDonalds across the road. Excellent place to stay in for a few nights.

Very nice and complete room. We didn't have a hair drier, but after we asked the owner, she let us find one on our door the morning after, really kind. The communication was good, they waited for us to give us the keys. They also had some good advice on where to eat late in the evening.
