Vence is under-rated when compared to its more illustrious neighbours Tourette’s and St Paul de Vence. But it is just as pretty and more interesting in what it offers. The main church is really interesting with its museum upstairs. Good choice of restaurants but book in advance as they get busy!

Vence is the most fabulous town.
Vence is the most fabulous town. It’s close proximity to Nice and the beach is a great advantage too. It has a brilliant selection of excellent restaurants of high standard. The overall character of the old town is spectacular. I cannot wait to revisit this amazing town.

There are many charming villages within an hour's drive of Nice. We have stayed in half a dozen of them. Vence is unpretentious, full of character and a place to return to. While it attracts tourists, real people live here and the quality of life is exemplary.

Vence very pretty Hill top town , in winter few tourists which is fine , but also many places closed . Restaurants which were open had few patrons ( we were only 2 in one place, Les Agapes which had good food ). 2 days is plenty.
The house was so so beautiful, bedroom was big with a great view of the mountains. Bathroom was nice and clean with great water pressure. Eating area was stunning!!! I would 100% recommend and return simply for the views and comfort of the room. Our host Andrew was so lovely and made us feel very welcome, even leaving us a booklet of things to do around and outside of Vence! I have no bad comments except that there is no direct transport to Nice or Antibes, however getting to those places is not very hard!
We have stayed in Vence in prior years, and my husband is very familiar with the area -- which is convenient to town, small shops, a wonderful mall/sculpture garden, and the old village. The small guest house was perfect for our few days with a full kitchen (Martine has it well equipped and we typically cook while traveling), clean and tidy, wonderful light, lovely yard and hosts. If it was summer we would have used the pool! Very secure property but close to everything you need for longer term stays.
The food is fantastic and popular with local people out for an occasion, which is often a good sign. The hotel is a small privately owned and family run business, with a wonderful traditional charm - really helpful and courteous. If you have a special request, just ask. Located only 50metres from the old town centre. Quiet road. Large bedrooms, genuine antique furnishings in abundance. We also stayed here last year and hope to go again. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Vence.
This is an extraordinary place, distinctive, beautiful, with charming hosts. It is in an ideal location in the heart of Vence, within walking distance of most of what you will want to see. The owners are enthusiastic travelers and art collectors themselves and very knowledgeable if you are willing to seek their advice. The area is quiet and delightful. We have traveled extensively in France. This is one of the very best experiences we have had: true hospitality.
7 min walk from the Vence main
bus station. This small hotel is build next to the beautiful panoramic view terrace. Three of us stayed and booked two rooms since they did not have a triple room. The room is simple and old but they kept it clean and comfortable. Also we got a room with the beautiful view. The dinner was tasty and wonderful. They took care of us well. We highly recommend this small but pleasant Auberge in Vence
Excellent family run hotel! They made us feel welcome. It is a short stroll into a hidden gem of a village. Breakfast on the terrace with a view of the Mediterranean was a treat, and then later drinks from the bar on the terrace after a dip on the pool. The building is from a by-gone era of luxury, and the hotel is an oasis from the bustling life along French Riviera.
La Colline de Vence was a fabulous property. Our host was terrific. He was cordial and extremely helpful. Everything about the property was just as advertised and even more. The view of the Mediterranean was amazing, from our property.
I highly recommend this property and its management. Fabulous expereience.
Excellent location and easy to get to with a compact car. They have an onsite parking garage. Walking is 5-10 minutes to the Matisse Chapel (amazing!) and about the same to Vence’s old city, the most beautiful spot on our trip to Arles, Aix-en-Provence, Vence and Nice. The hotel is nice and the staff were great.
Although this is a very simple apartment it is very comfortable with everything you need for a great break. Very peaceful with a great view, and getting full sun in the morning, with a wonderful view of the mountains. Vence is a few minutes away by car, and has many excellent small restaurants.
Hosts were extremely friendly, welcoming and accommodating. We were able to park our car in the hotel driveway when there was no space outside. Beautiful location and fabulous town. Would definitely visit again.
This was a great discovery just outside Vence. The owners are very kind and helpful and it felt like a real home from home. The studio is comfortable and well equipped. it would be cool to return one day
