The place exceeded our expectations, especially due to the owners. The couple "naturel et lumière" (that is actually how they call themselves 😊) is running this authentic and extremely cosy mountain refuge in a very positive and welcoming spirit.
At our arrival, we were instantly warmly received in this remote, high altitude “gite” in beautiful snow topped surroundings, which made us feel happy and at home immediately.
The owners knowledge of the area and its history is astounding and a source of inspiration and laughter!
The room we had (“Ecrins”) was beautiful, clean, had mountain views and even a bathtub.
Breakfast and food is served by the fire in the cosy common room and the bar is a great place to chat with the owners or other guests.
Highly recommendable !

The views from the rooms were spectacular and laying in bed cal look up at the peaks way above. The breakfast was extensive enough for fuelling the energy for the day. The bedding was comfortable and room was warm. The renovations make the rooms very clean. For the purpose of snow chasing holiday, it has pretty much all you would want.

I had an excellent stay at the RestAuberge La Reine Meije, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, providing lots of practical advice on how to get the best out of the trip. The food in the restaurant was exceptionally good for dinner in the evenings and the breakfast was also to an acceptable standard. There was a very pleasant and relaxed atmosphere in the common seating area, with board games and music available.

Exceptional location next to the impressive La Mejie mountain. The view is just sublime. The Gîte is definetely the coolest stay we had during our trekking in the Parc des Ecrins. We especially loved the funky terrace with the pink Cadillac converted to a -Swimming Pool. The appartment is very spacious, clean and well equipped. The hosts are really friendly and laid back. We immediately felt at home. A true highlight to remember!

The people we met in the hotel and sports hire shop were friendly and helpful. The village itself is a very traditional looking French village, but like many of them has very few facilities. In the winter it gets no direct sunshine from mid-afternoon.
The Nordic ski runs up the valley to Arsine are lovely and well looked after. The ski area at Arsine is quite lively and convivial, with people gathering there to rest and chat and go for a drink or meal after their skiing.

The breakfast was superb, so nice to be able to squeeze your own orange juice, and there was plenty of fresh fruit and pastries and a variety of breads. The balcony was large enough for a table and 2 chairs plus a deck chair. And the big plus was a small clothes line with pegs! Great for travellers! It was nice to be able to have evening meals on the terrace, as well as drinks on the bar terrace. We felt “at home “
Staff were friendly, the shared areas such as bar, lounge and restaurant and terrace were all very nice. The food was great too. Room was as expected, small but functional for the 1 night. The town is lovely and easy to walk from the hotel.
Very comfortable hotel with relaxing public areas. Good setting, as you come down from the mountains. Situated on the edge of the village, so there was the opportunity to eat in the restaurant or try a local hostelry.
Very modern facility with big, bright rooms and comfortable bedding. Quick check-in at arrival. Good location on the main road to Grenoble. Hotel restaurant was also very good. Would definitely stay again.
