As a lone traveller for work, it was great to get an upgrade. I have not come across this chain before and was very impressed. Lovely pub setting and as a woman on my own I was made to feel welcome and at ease. Lovely comfortable bed and breakfast. Enjoyed the cafetière coffee in the room too. There’s a lot here I would would come back to…an amazing view from the top of the village!

Number 38 Clifton, hotel in Almondsbury

A contemporary boutique guest house set in a Georgian townhouse, Number 38 Clifton offers stylish rooms with views of the Clifton Downs or Bristol city centre.

It was just perfect! The room was lovely, the view from the room was so cute, looking over all the rooftops of Clifton. I was initially going to get in after check-in hours due to my train, the property was very accommodating and made the necessary arrangements to accommodate me after hours and sent me clear instructions. I did arrive before check-in closed in the end and that was no problem either! Lovely staff, the breakfast was DELICIOUS, wow! Overall just excellent and would stay for a long weekend if travelling to Bristol again in the future.

Dreadful link to the local taxi service.

Dreadful link to the local taxi service. The one booked never showed up so I had to drive to central Bristol and pick my car up in the morning. Ruined the timing for the following day. No matter that the hotel does not control the taxi service, they MUST get a reliable link. Cannot afford to risk the same thing again so am forced to go elsewhere. Pity.

The small village is a great place to stay.

The small village is a great place to stay. There’s a real community vibe to the village. A community shop staffed by volunteers provides a decently priced and wide array of products. The church is lovely. On a couple of occasions I needed information and locals went to great lengths to assist me. The bell ringing practice on Monday night was unexpected, but that shows the level of community involvement. That was the only noise I heard apart from usual pub interactions which weren’t too bad.

I stayed as a drop off point to Cardiff from Central England. Glad I did. Was really cheap but everything was above expectations. I usually use premier inn and this hotel was every bit as good. Highly recommended.

Since I was going on a business it was ok. As this is the second time this year that I have left the isle of Man and travelled to England, and had poor or medioca hotel and restreaunt/cafe service, I am comming to the conclusion that ,since the end of covid, much of the Englsh hospitality industry is hell bent on recovering their losses, that they want to srew as much money as possible out of clients, not caring too much about the service they offer. I am jolly glad when leaving the Island, I had a good breakfast on the ferry, not waiting until I arrived in England for a meal.

Almondsbury is just outside Bristol, but it felt further out into the country. Pretty village with a beautiful old church with an amazing Inn next door. Wonderful views across to the River Severn and across to Wales. Very easy to find.

Beautifully refurbished hotel with modernised interior and parking place next to it at no extra cost. Excellent food at breakfast and diner time. The location is close to the main road, which gives some traffic noise but not a lot. With closed windows it can't be heard. The room is spacious and clean, looks very modern, has airco and thick curtains. Excellent value for money.

Cozy pub with rooms in small village setting. Parking opposite. Rooms great with comfy king size bed. Bathroom small but fine for a few nights. Very nice menu selection for both breakfast and lunch/ dinner. We had breakfast and dinner on the 3 days we stayed and everything was delicious. My gluten free needs accommodated with ease. Well run pub - lovely staff.

it’s an old inn but everything is redone and very nice inside. the staff was friendly and welcoming. good and drinks were great. plus location off the highway can’t be beat but you still get a small town feeling. If you follow the path out the back of the church up a steep hill you get to a beautiful spot to watch the sunset. highly recommend the bowl inn.

The food served at the swan was fantastic and enjoyed by all. The outdoor children’s area was a lovely feature (although the staff claimed food wasn’t served in this area a steak knife was found by the toddler!) The staff were lovely and understanding of one of the children’s additional needs. Ideal location for a cross country journey breaker.

Easy check in after a late flight in to Bristol Airport (30 mins away) despite it being gone 3am and comfortable bed. Good shower. Decent buffet breakfast for £6.95 a head and easy access to the motorway to get on the road quickly the next morning. Staff were very helpful too. Ideal for our purposes.

The hotel was a budget hotel and for that was okay. Furnishings and fittings were tired and dated. The breakfast was good for a buffet style and plenty of it. Beware cad only, no cash. Was not informed of this.
