You could not fault this hotel for location, cleanliness, staff, food, comfort, facilities. The ONLY thing that the hotel didn't have was parking, but as it is so close to the station, and to the town, a car was completely superfluous in order to enjoy Darlington.
Overlooking Richmond's cobbled market square, and the Norman castle, this charming Georgian hotel full of character and warmth is only 6.4 km from the A1. Free WiFi is available on-site.

We loved the situation of the hotel, we loved the fact that we had a room looking on to the Market Place and we really liked the liveliness of the hotel. It had a relaxed yet very busy atmosphere. The staff were great, calm, cool and friendly despite being very busy.
Originally built in 1835, The Croft Hotel, BW Signature Collection is situated in the historic village of Croft-on-Tees, overlooking the River Tees.

The staff were super friendly and welcoming; a lovely gentleman walked us over to the building where our room was. The room was so spacious and comfy. We were staying to break up a journey from Scotland and arrived late but still enjoyed relaxing whilst watching tv. Really nice rainfall shower and a lovely, quiet countryside area!
I loved the town . The people are extremely friendly.
I loved the town . The people are extremely friendly. There 's a cattle farm, a pig farm and a sheep farm which can be a bit smelly. I wish there was a restaurant but the post office is quite well stoked with necessities and there is a couple of very nice pubs and restaurants in Middleton Tyas, just a 10 minute drive away. We had a fun night at the local pub " The Half Moon". The locals went out of their way to try and help me locate long lost relatives. There are some lovely little cottages displaying typical British gardens. For those who don't drive there is a very good bus service. From Darlington there is access to the market town of Richmond, which has a castle, and Leyburn, with access to the dales. I hope to return next year
