4TheDome- Deluxe ground floor apartment opposite the sea, hotel in Barton on Sea

Set 19 km from Bournemouth International Centre, 4TheDome- Deluxe ground floor apartment opposite the sea offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking.

Very comfortable, clean and cosy beach-front apartment located right across the road from Fisherman's Walkway taking you down to the lovely beaches and beyond. Beaches are exceptionally clean with lots of bins and the views and walks are fantastic. Beaches are pebbled and can be quite hilly, the flat coastal walks and views are just lovely. The apartment was well-equipped and well-maintained with a comfortable bed, large modern TV in the lounge with free-streaming channels and a lovely fire to add to the relaxing atmosphere. Location seemed quiet at night (but we did visit in April) so maybe busier in the summer months. Location wise it was perfect for travelling to local beaches either by car or by foot, we caught the ferry to Isle of Wight (from Lymington) which is only a 7 mile car journey away. I was impressed with how well organised the Ferry Link is and very less chaotic then I had imagined. Nearby to the apartment I counted 3 nice restaurants, a coffee house and a couple of stores and a Lidl's nearby - the history of the town is well presented by the Obelisk Indian war memorial opposite the apartment which I found really quite interesting. All in all, we all had a lovely relaxing stay at No 4 the Dome.

Barton on Sea and the surrounding area is beautiful. Lovely beaches, good facilities for eating and shopping. Close to many outdoor attractions. Nearby Highcliffe Beach is uncrowded, and dogs are allowed all year round. It is quite a steep path from car park to beach though. House Martin pub is good for food, very reasonable prices, good service and lovely pub garden.

For the third week in July it was surprisingly quiet, but that was probably because the weather was a tad dodgy! Barton on Sea has about half a dozen eateries ranging from a tiny take away cafe to the high range of dining. There is a local convenience store but Lidl is just over a mile away and Tesco and Aldi just under two miles away. The market towns of Christchurch, New Milton and Lymington are all accessible by car within 20 minutes; the New Forest is on the doorstep. Barton's beach has some erosion so there are bits that are inaccessible, but there are plenty of walks. Highciffe Castle - but don't walk through the holiday home site - the gates are coded! Hengistbury Head and Mudeford are a 'must' to visit but be prepared to pay £8.00 for 4 hours parking - it was actually well worth it!

Could have stayed there longer in better weather!

Could have stayed there longer in better weather! Barton on sea is a quiet (in October) town with lots of bungalows many of which have been improved and are very smart. There are lovely views over the sea to The Needles, IOW. We were able to walk to HighCliffe castle although we had to go around the holiday park due to coastal erosion. There are a few shops and restaurants, where we had an excellent meal. Also the New Forest is nearby with the attractions there.
