The central location was great with a couple of pubs practically across the street. It was located a walk from a pub with food and no restaurants were nearby but it is really a self catering stay with a commual kitch and dining area. We had a comfortable and enjoyable couple of nights.

Nicely furnished, spacious rooms and a bathroom with a bath was a big bonus! My partner has pain issues and having a bath was such a lovely surprise and a big help for her. Quiet location with everything you would need. Staff were excellent, welcoming and very helpful. The TV in our room wasn’t working and they very quickly relocated us to a neighbouring room with very little fuss. Also the bed was very comfy.

We were more than pleased with both the facilities and the friendly staff. Happy to stay there again.
Boasting a garden and a bar, The Victory at Mersea is set in West Mersea. This property also has a restaurant and a children's playground. Both free WiFi and private parking are accessible at the inn....
Very pleasant relatively low key resort. The local museum is exceptional. The food available was disappointing - pub fare (fine but not for every lunch and dinner) - with no stall/restaurant selling crab sandwiches or edible shell fish.
Well worth taking the foot ferry to Point Clear for a walk. Very relaxing walks along the river as well.

Loved Brightlingsea.
Loved Brightlingsea. We were pleasantly surprised how peaceful and pretty it was. The museum was very interesting and loved the lake & beach huts. We ate at the Yachtsman twice and the Rosebud. Enjoyed our meals at both places. We travelled out most days to Mersea, Dedham, Holland -0n -Sea, Maldon and Colchester and would recommend all these places.

Brightlingsea is a quaint little town.
Brightlingsea is a quaint little town. Only one way in one way out everyone said and it’s true. Lovely fish and chips in Winkees and a great selection in the kebab shop we even brought some home there was so much left over. The pub we stayed in The Freemasons arms is so friendly and live music most weekends. We went to the promanade to see a music festival which although weather not great we still had a great time. Also it’s not far from clacton on sea where there is lots to do there. A great stay.
The hosts were super helpful with the keys for a late arrival. I was working for the week in Colchester a 30 mins drive away and this apartment was a great choice. Home from home as opposed to a soulless premier inn (sorry Lenny Henry!). Bijou but comfortable and a nice surprise was the new wifi. I was up early for work but could road noise may be an issue for a late lie in. Would not hesitate to book again when in the area.
.
Great location, behind the sailing club on the seafront. Able to walk to town, bars and restaurants and other places of interest. The accommodation was ideal for us giving more flexibility than a hotel or b&b, comfortable with modern tasteful decor and fittings. This property is dog friendly, adjacent field to have a run, also plenty of costal walks.
it was very spacious and lots of home comforts such as salt and vinegar and cleaning equipment. the garden is just perfect. very quiet area even with a pub a few yards away. beds are comfy and it’s much bigger than you think. perfect base to see all of brightlingsea and surrounding areas.
How it felt like a home away from home, very good value for money, the cottage is in prime location of brightlingsea, with shops and the beach just a walk away
It was the perfect weekend away for me and my boyfriend
Lovely accommodation - clean and comfortable in an idyllic rural setting. Welcoming host and a short drive to a small town with everything you need. Perfect for a weekend away with the kids.
