Beautiful isle with very friendly local people.

Beautiful isle with very friendly local people. We visited in January which is considered an off-season, so some bars and attractions were temporarily closed. However, we were lucky with the weather and enjoyed many peaceful walks nearby with breath-taking scenes!

Welcoming , comfortable, clean accommodation.Location near amenities and town centre.Great food.Very beautiful scenery and wildlife.Quiet and peaceful but plenty to do if you want it.So many beaches that one is more beautiful than another.Arran definitely is Scotland in miniature and The Old Dairy is a wee hidden gem and has a charm of it's own

We've stayed in Brodick a few times and love the proximity of everything - beaches, woodland walks, Brodick Castle, restaurants, bars, Arran Cheese, the Brewery, Arran Botanicals, the Heritage Museum, Arran Aromatics, Wooleys Bakery, just to name a few. For food the Douglas Hotel, Ormidale and Auchrannie are good as is the Brodick bar. The Fisherman's walk is a gentle walk along the front and the beautiful beach with shallow water. Great for families. Pretty much everything is within walking distance.

Brodick is the main commercial and transportation centre for the Isle of Arran. It is a small place with very limited basic services, and nothing much to see or do in itself apart from the Castle and the Arran Heritage Museum. The shops were disappointing and there were only two decent restaurants in the central part of the town (I gather the Auchrannie Resort and Spa was good too but did not have a chance to go there as it is rather out of the way if you don't have a car). The best restaurant by far was the Brodick Brasserie - fine dining on Arran! The best thing about the town is its setting on a wide bay with mountains to the north.

Brodick is no more than a charming seaside village but has a promenade and some entertainments such as crazy golf. Brodick Castle and the Arran Heritage Museum are definite must visit attractions. The 323 bus to Whiting Bay and the south end of the island is recommended. Blackwaterfoot is also worth a bus ride. Motorists should be wary of the western side of the island where the only roads do not have "A" designation.

We picked up filled rolls and cakes at Wooleys bakery most days and they were excellent - nearly opposite the smaller Co-op store. We had a couple of tasty meals at The Douglas Hotel - worth booking ahead to get the time you want. Arran ice cream is excellent and is sold in various places. There are plenty of seats along the main road where you can sit to eat your cone and parking is easy and free here too. Everyone is exceptionally friendly and there were plenty of staff serving in the cafes and shops.

Charlotte was a great host; when I had issues with my ferry, she reassured me I'd still be able to check in and got it all set up for me to arrive late! She was also very approachable to ask about Arran generally and cooked a full breakfast for us each morning (much needed pre the long hikes). Room was really charming, with blackout blinds, lovely comfy bed and a nice size and amenities like tea/coffee, desk, mirrors, lots of plug sockets.

Really nice guy that runs the place. Guesthouse have everything you need for a trip; kitchen, comfy beds, couch and TV. Really good price given all of the above you pay same or more for a hotel that doesn’t have kitchen or living room. Coop just down the road and a Chinese, pizza place, and chip shop nearby. Stunning views over the sea and island, plus seating area outside for the rare times in Arran there is sunshine!

A quiet, clean, and charming hotel in an excellent location close to the ferry terminal in Brodick. Current check-in/out and breakfast arrangements are different due to social distancing but both work well and are suitable. Very comfy bed and decent value for money. In what little interaction we did have with the staff, they were helpful and friendly. Would recommend.

We loved our stay at the Shorehouse. The location and the view were amazing, and we felt it was great value for the price we paid - especially for self catering! The Shorehouse is definitely a little quirky and in some places is a little tired around the edges, but we loved our stay here and would definitely come back.

Excellent location in central Brodick. Car parked on main road as no driveway at apartment but no problem parking. Apartment decor was a little dated but the cost was a fraction of the cost for hotels nearby (although they were 4*). If you are just looking for a base to tour Arran then it’s ideal.

Great location—very close to the ferry and the main shops in Brodick but a bit removed from it all. Felt very safe. Breakfast was pretty good and had various choices. Overall my room was pretty quiet. WiFi worked great. Significantly less expensive than a lot of other options on Arran.

The hotel room we had was amazing. It was perfect for us having a dog as it had a small enclosed garden which two rooms share. The staff were so friendly and outgoing and we will be booking a room there on our return to Arran.
