Portreath Arms, hotel in Chacewater

Along the north Cornwall coast, around 30 minutes’drive from Newquay and St Ives, Portreath Arms has a cosy bar and restaurant serving fresh home-cooked food.

Very friendly welcome on arrival even though we arrived on a Friday evening when the pub was busy. We were shown straight to our room which was clean and quiet despite the pub being busy downstairs. Great breakfast the next morning. Great proximity to the beach. Stayed with two year old daughter and would do so again if we are in the area.

Beacon Country House Hotel & Luxury Shepherd Huts, hotel in Chacewater

This stylish family-run country house hotel is surrounded by picturesque Cornish countryside, close to the rugged coast.

The staff were all so friendly and welcoming. It was explained to us about breakfast choices and how to pre-order. We also got told our room was upgraded free of charge due to availability which was a lovely surprise and cant thank them enough for doing so as they didnt have to do that! The room was very well presented and clean. Views from the hotel were amazing! Feels like you're in the middle of nowhere with views of fields but are not far at all from the town and beach, so it was lovely to get the best of it all! The breakfast selection was amazing! From a fully set up table of fruits, yoghurts, fruit juices, and cereals to an option of cooked breakfasts. Myself and my partner pre-ordered our cooked breakfasts each day, and it did not disappoint. It was such a great way to start the morning, and they also have gluten-free bread/toast as an option, which was fantastic! Staff have great knowledge of surrounding areas and were more then helpful with a map to show us the best routes (signal is hit and miss when by the sea/cliffs so it's always good to have your bearings) but signal around hotel and WiFi were spot on! We spent three nights here for a wedding and mini break. We had the best stay! Thank you for your warm welcome and beautiful stay!

Mannings Hotel, hotel in Chacewater

Make 2024 your year to … Visit Truro Our Great Little City is perfect for a weekend getaway in any season.

I've stayed here twice for work purposes. As a lone female, I was glad to stay on site (there are lodges outside the main hotel). The first stay was on the third floor, it was a lovely room, with a bath and overhead shower in the ensuite, the bed was so comfortable. I had a meal in their restaurant which, was delicious. As I was starting work early they let me take away a breakfast with coffee and couldn't help me enough. I was so pleased I booked here again for my next work trip. The staff are really lovely.

    It's surrounded by great beaches.

It's surrounded by great beaches. We stayed for 5days and what we did is just to visit the coastal beaches of Cornwall. Chacewater is a very good location as we only drive 20-30minutes for each beach that we visit. Chasewater itself is a clean and quiet place, can be busy at times. Friendly people. There's a supermarket closeby.

A lovely place to stay for an autumn break. Great location, excellent facilities in the cottage, really good area for getting out and about by car or on foot. Lovely village atmosphere, with a well stocked general store and market on Friday.
