Breakfast was good. Continental but included fresh soft fruit. There was also the opportunity to boil your own egg. Host was friendly and helpful. Place was vey quiet, scarcely any other guests. Room was warm and usefully had a small table and chairs. It also had a very useful fridge.

Giving easy access to Inverness, the Black Isle and the West coast, Contin is an ideal base for a Highland holiday. Contin itself is a beautiful spot and the staff from both the local shop and the hotel Coul House were welcoming and friendly.

Nice village shop. Friendly people.
Nice village shop. Friendly people. We went a run up Strathconon...a trip down memory lane for us both. We had eaten a large lunch at Dornoch on the way south, so took in snacks from Tesco in Dingwall. Plenty of places to eat in Dingwall and Strathpeffer.
The only sad thing about our trip to Scotland is that we did not have enough time to enjoy this jewel of a B&B. We had a schedule change and had to move on too early the next morning. Fiona and Derek are such great hosts that have made a beautiful B&B out of their home. The rooms were welcoming and comfortable, and the location was stellar, right across the road from the loch. If your looking for a peaceful, tranquil location, this is it!
Had a couple of nights stay at Achilty guest house. The proprietor was very friendly & welcoming ( M ). The chalet was spacious and dog friendly and clean, bed was made daily which was a nice surprise ! Continental breakfast was plentiful, with good choices. We were visiting family and friends in the area, so was a good location for us. The price paid was good value for the time of year and location.
Would we stay there again ? Yes
This is a stately former hunting lodge built by the McKenzie Clan in the early 1800's, and it is gorgeous. Rooms are lovely, the place is old, but fabulous, and it is a lovely place to linger all day. I spent the afternoon in the oak paneled bar by the fire place reading a good book while drinking a wee dram of fine whiskey. Breakfast is outstanding, and the restaurant at night is very good.
The employees are very helpful and give great service. It’s in a gorgeous setting in the woods with great views on the drive to the house. Breakfast was continental but plenty of choice and in the evening the microwave and crockery etc, were really helpful after a long day out. We did a day of activities which we all really enjoyed.
Excellent food and service. The hotel grounds are charming. Staff were attentive and were happy to create a relaxed yet effective hotel environment. We were impressed by the flexibility staff showed in coping with our dining requirements - especially after Covid, when so many others fail on service flexibility.
Beautiful accommodation in a stunning location. The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean and decorated to a high standard. Fiona and Derek have put much thought and effort into creating a most desirable guest house which rivals many top class hotels. Such a warm welcome and delicious breakfasts too.
Fiona & Derek are wonderful and engaging hosts. Breakfasts were made to order with such variety and great conversation. We were so fortunate that we arrived the day of the local Highland Games for nearby Strathpeffer. What a wonderful treat! One of our favorite stays in Scotland.
Comfortable, spacious and clean room.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
The breakfast was a continental buffer offering a good selection of food: different types of breads, cereals, cold meats, cheese, freshly boiled eggs, fresh fruits.
I would not hesitate to return to Achilty.
The breakfast was a basic choice but you got as much as you wanted and it was all freshly made. Sandy the host was brilliant and really friendly with everyone in our party Inc children. The other staff where friendly also and very helpful.
Lovely relaxing hotel, excellent afternoon tea with fantastic scones, wonderful dinner, fab breakfast and staff all very friendly throughout stay. Beautiful gardens in a very peaceful setting.
An old fashion hotel in an old mansion with nicely updated facilities and very beautiful grounds. Restaurant was exceptional for dinner and breakfast. Very good service
Very friendly and helpful host. Guest house was excellent and we loved their continental breakfast. Thank you very much for accomodating us for an extra night.
