Team very kindly upgraded my room for free. Staff were friendly and helpful, room was clean, quiet and comfortable with a gorgeous view. Loads of local walks plus five minutes walk from the station so an ideal spot for visiting the RSPB reserves in Silverdale/Morecambe Bay if, like me, you're car-free. I didn't eat in the pub but great communication in advance offering reservations when it started to look like a busy weekend! Little things like windows that properly open and heavy curtains meant that even on a hot weekend in a high up room it was possible to keep the room cool, an absolute blessing after long days out walking.
In Kendal town centre, the Riverside Hotel is a 17th-century building with a state-of-the-art leisure club. Rooms have river views, and Windermere and the Yorkshire Dales are 15 minutes' drive away.

Nice bar, restaurant and leisure facilities.
Lovely views even from the ground floor room.
Great nights sleep.
Hotel is fantastic. I stayed for work and used it as a base for business in the North. Quick access to Lakes and M6 which is an added bonus.
Room is on point with comfy bed, great bathroom with decent shower and a desk to work. Staff are helpful and friendly and food is really good to.

Everything was good about our stay here, proximity to M6 to break the journey to Scotland. The room was very comfortable and food was good. I would just have liked a healthier vegetarian breakfast option.

Rural location is good.
Rural location is good. And everything at the hotel was great! Friendly and professional staff, comfortable and immaculately clean room and superb food and service at a reasonable price in the restaurant. Ample free car parking, too.
Only slight negative is that hotel is on a busy, fast road with no pavements - so walks from it might be limited for some guests (eg those with several small children or some elderly people).

Staff very friendly. Check in straightforward reception staff lovely- very helpful. Bar ,lounge food great and relaxing. Restaurant very good and run very well. Great service. Meals plentiful . Great parking on site and good location just off M6. Nice outside area. Thoroughly recommend, have stayed many times.
I last stayed at the Crooklands Hotel about 30 years ago. It is as excellent now as it was then. All the staff were helpful and friendly and the food was excellent. My husband's walking group, on my recommendation, have booked to come in May next year. Although he no longer walks with this group, we are hoping that if they have overbooked, we can come too !
The team were so friendly. especially the lady on reception on Friday night / Saturday morning. She was very proactive and friendly - a real credit to the hotel, but actually all the staff were really friendly. the food at both dinner and breakfast was excellent.
All aspects of the hotel were excellent. Friendly staff, great food - dinner & breakfast, very comfortable & quiet room & quiet areas to have a drink out with bar area. Easy check-in & check out & ample parking. Great location just off motorway.
Excellent location for access to Lakes and North Yorkshire ( and Lancashire). Crooklands Hotel next door, good food though do book, gets v busy at weekends. The cottage is well fitted out with bedlinen, good towels, crockery etc.
The staff were very welcoming and obliging. Nothing was too much trouble and I couldn't fault anything about Crooklands at all. I feel like they bent over backwards for our party generally and would definitely recommend !
Lovely Hotel, staff very helpful and friendly and could not fault the food. Stayed with a large group of people from the Midland and Eastern Branch (Suffolk sheep society)and they accommodated us admirably.
We arrived on Saturday around 4 .30 and were greeted by a smiling ,friendly receptionist. Our room was lovely and very clean and tastefully decorated. Nice products in the bathroom
Booked room and breakfast, room was very spacious and clean, breakfast following two days was wholesome, hot and ready in a few minutes - great service all around.
