Lux House, hotel in Crowland

Offering garden views, Lux House is an accommodation situated in Peterborough, 6.6 km from Peterborough Cathedral and 9 km from Longthorpe Tower.

Plenty of parking space outside of the property. Within a short distance of corner shops and takeaways. The area was quiet, we weren’t disturbed by anything. The owners were easy to contact and very kind and helpful. We were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the entire building and grounds. There were so many things put in place to make their visitors feel comfortable and at home. There were slippers near the front door, loads of toiletries, tea/coffee making facilities in the bedroom. The bedside lamps had charging ports for phones/devices. The kitchen had absolutely everything you could need, from cooking oil, kitchen paper, spices, salt n pepper, extra tea/coffee, milk, sugar etc etc etc. There was an iron and ironing board…the list goes on. It really was a “home from home” experience. Hats off to the property owners for creating such a welcoming place to stay. I would have no qualms about recommending this place and should myself or anyone I know need accommodation in Peterborough I would definitely recommend this property. Thank you so much to the owners for all your hard work and attention to detail.

The stay at this hotel was beyond expectation. Free car park and quick registering system after a long drive was most welcome. For a value for money hotel, all basics were of good standard. Ample tea & coffee supplies and a hair-dryer in a clean, spacious room was beyond expecting. Our request for a ground floor room was met. All the reception staff were courteous and responsive to inquiries. Plenty of choice of meals in the motorway services main food hall. Overall, happy experience.

Crowland is a small friendly town.

Crowland is a small friendly town. It has two small supermarkets, a bakery, a fish and chip shop and several restaurants/takeaways. It has a few shops selling non food items. The Trinity bridge in the centre of the town is worth a look. The Abbey is spectacular and the volunteers in the adjoining parish church are knowledgeable and helpful about the history of it. The library is well resourced.

    Not a touristy place.

Not a touristy place. The Abbey church and ruins are worth a visit and we had a good Sunday lunch at Ye Old Abbey but booking essential. The Deepings nature reserve and lakes are great for walking and the river Welland is lovely.
