A lovely friendly place to stay from the moment we arrived to when we left. The food was delicious. Steak cooked to perfection and the "proper" chips were lush. Breakfast was great as well.

The staff were cheerful, hardworking and attentive. The food was delicious and well presented and we loved the period features in the hotel, especially the breakfast room.

Not a great fan of full 'english breakfast' anywhere, opportunity to have smaller alternatives welcome.

We based our stay in Cornwall at The Poldark Inn, Delabole which is a very quiet location with views to the sea. It is well situated for easy access anywhere in Cornwall and it was really nice to return there where its so peaceful and you could hear the birds chirping after a day in the hustle and bustle of tourist traffic. We did eat in the onsite restaurant which was very good but we also took advantage to cook for ourselves in the apartment which had all the utensils required to cook a delicious meal.

Delabole is where my father in law comes from, so there are a couple of relatives there!!!... we have been to the slate quarry before!!... the single road through the village gets very congested, I guess thats the sign of the times with lots of traffic!

Delabole itself is fairly small.
Delabole itself is fairly small. It has one well-stocked convenience store which sells local produce. There is also a decent pub with food on offer.
However, Delabole is a decent base from which to explore the region. You can access coastal paths directly from the Poldark Inn and the likes of Wadebridge, Bodmin (great for the Camel Trail) Padstow and Tintagel are all within easy reach by car.

Take a look around the Old Quarry site when the day is clear, it's quite spectacular! The local pub at the of the road The Bettle and Chisel does excellent food and is very friendly and accommodating, COVID-19 awareness very good. Worth a visit for a drink or two, and the waitress Imogen is a little peach :)

Delabole is situated in central North Cornwall so is a great base for visiting the coast. Trabarwith Strand is two miles away it has a good beach and is great for surfing (it has a surf school).
Delabole has a world renowned slate quarry (visit by appointment at present), two pubs, a petrol station, general store, fish and chip shop, florists and two car mechanics. Its of the beaten track, so is not full of tourists
Lovely cottage to stay in near to the coast. Communication was excellent before arrival. It's lovely to have tea/coffee/milk waiting for you when you arrive! The cottage was really neat and clean, beds were comfy and the shower excellent. Private garden with hot tub which we used during the evening. Parking was plentiful and adjacent to the cottage which was great. I would recommend this as somewhere to stay and hope to be able to come back soon.
Clean, comfortable, beautiful cottage. Milk and washing tabs were at the cottage for us when we arrived which was great as we arrived late. We drove everywhere but there was fish & chips, a pub and a Spar within walking distance. Really great location as we were only a few miles from great beaches/villages. The welcome folder included great info about what was nearby or what to visit on our stay
The property was beautiful, location was fab to visit Port Isaac & Tintagle. Mel ( the owner ) was fabulous, so funny, so lovely & even baked us a fresh loaf of bread for the morning. The bed was super comfortable, everything was so clean. Milk, Butter & Jam Provided - honestly not one bad word, wish we stayed for longer and explored the area. Thank you for having us Mel xxx
My husband and I absolutely loved this property. It is nestled away in a beautiful hamlet, an ideal base for exploring north Cornwall. It also has dog walks on the door step without even having to venture out in a vehicle.
The property itself is also finished to the highest of standards with beautiful bespoke furniture. Absolutely stunning!!
Lovely traditional cottage with a well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, good WiFi access and a beautiful, quiet location. The house itself is very characterful and quirky. A good location for visiting local places of interest such as Tintagel Castle and Padstow. The Delabole slate quarry is definitely worth a visit for the spectacular view.
The rooms were both spacious and cozy and nearby the Tintagel castle. The owners were friendly and the family dinner was fantastic and very enjoyable. The Breakfast was plain and simple and although there not many options it still met our needs. Would visit again and definitely recommend the stay if planning the Tintagel Castle visit.
Fabulous accommodation in a small hamlet deep in the north Cornish countryside, but within easy reach of all the local highlights. Good pubs and cafe within a couple of miles. Kelly is a wonderful host who goes the extra mile to ensure your stay is perfect and give advice on where to go and what to do. Highly recommended.
Lovely, clean cottage close to the beautiful beaches and sites of North Cornwall. We came with our two kids and our dog. It had everything we needed. We particularly liked the garden where we enjoyed the sunshine with a cup of tea in the mornings.
Great central location for exploring Cornwall.
The cottage is very clean and nicely furnished.
Sarah was very quick to respond when we had a query.
It was great to meet Lee the cottages owner who called round to see how we were settling in.
Really lovely cosy cottage in a great location for exploring the local beaches, and tourist spots like Tintagel, Bude. We had a fantastic few days. The cottage is in a quiet street near the quarry which has lovely walks if that’s your thing.
Cottage was clean and comfortable, and very well equipped. Location is great for exploring the beautiful north Cornwall coast. The Bettle and Chisel pub is within walking distance and serves lovely food and beer.
