Sarum College, hotel in Downton

Situated 100 metres from Salisbury Cathedral, Sarum College offers 2-star accommodation in Salisbury and has a garden.

Breakfast was described as superb, and it surely was. It was plentiful and served in a nice bright room. Money could not buy you a better location in Salisbury, walking out into the peaceful Cathedral close in the morning felt like a timeless experience. The rooms were clean and well turned out in the manner of a respectable B&B. The welcome from the staff was charming and friendly. The St John's Bible was on display whilst staying and this was an unexpected bonus experience.

Just a short break for the new forest as we had not visited for many years. Ideal for a short break, the owners had made the accommodation most comfortable and in our opinion spotless, so a big thank you for all there efforts.. We hope to stay again as the location was ideal...

The local view of The Bull is "only go there if you want a fight or drugs" - i'd say that is pretty accurate. As for our room, the plumbing barely worked, the noise from ventilation ducts was intolerable and the TV didnt work, not that it would have been audible above the noise. Dreadful place and I dont have particularly high standards.

We loved the close proximity of the pubs.

We loved the close proximity of the pubs. We had an excellent meal at The Goat and a lovely drink in the garden of the pub opposite. There was a convenience store at the garage close by and a Coop in the town. The town was very close to the New Forest.
