Ellanbeich is a beautiful wee village with a fascinating history. There is an excellent pub (the oyster bar) with one of the best views from the terrace in Scotland. We took the ferry to Easdale for the afternoon and walked around the island in glorious sunshine. There are also boat trips from the harbour with Seafari adventures and we took an early morning boat tour on a comfortable rib to see the famous Corryvreckan whirlpool and were treated to the sight of playful otters and porpoises too. Highly recommended and we would love to come back.

Quaint, quiet , idyllic village with sea view and harbour.
Quaint, quiet , idyllic village with sea view and harbour. Friendly locals, nice pub. Great scenery, paradise for birdwatchers, walkers and those who enjoy rocky shorelines. Worth going the extra few miles off the regular roads and tourist routes.
Interesting museum of local life and history of slate mining.
Other small neighbouring islands worth visiting.
