The seclusion and after a quick summary of how to handle the wood fired hot tub we were left to get on with our stay by Julie.
We were contacted before and after our stay by Julie by some pleasant and friendly texts.
Highly recommended.

Great hotel right on the coast for some lovely veiws. The staff were so welcoming and friendly and the place was immaculate. We had booked 3 rooms as a group and were pleasantly surprised to find one of the doubles actually had a double and a single. The bathroom was lovely, with great facilities. Also love those toiletries.
The breakfast was amazing, and although not laid out in buffet style like some places, you could still select a variety of hot and cold options off the fresh cooked menu.
We also stayed for dinner on the first night and was lucky enough to catch their carvery night. Everything was lovely and everyone else in my family that chose the fish said it was some of the nicest they have tasted. Will definitely stay here again next time I am up that way.

The room had everything you needed and more. The breakfast was absolutely delicious it was locally produced produce and the flavour and quality second to none. One of us had full breakfast and the other the smoked salmon with scrambled egg. They were both served piping hot with fresh orange and the freshly brewed coffee went down a treat.

A friendly village with lots of character, locals enjoy a friendly blether, didn't manage to eat out on account of our dog but the addition of the wee grocers shop has helped the village a lot. Driving, especially along the Seatown end of the village may seem a bit hairy for the more nervous drivers.

This place is so picturesque! The locals that we did see were so friendly, the kids loved watching the birds and sea life from the apartment and of course watching the boats! Banff is only a 17 minute drive along the road so still close enough to amenities if needed

It was a lovely place to visit and as it was winter it was not too busy. I would imagine in summer there could be a lot more day and staying visitors which may impact on limited parking facilities in the village. There are car parks either end but street parking for the village in the main could get busy. Elis cafe in New Ground is a delight, fish and chips van on Thursday afternoons, local shops with supplies and antiques with lovely people to help. Being Christmas some closures over that weekend but some opening hours too.

This is a beautiful old fishing village, Eli’s coffee, cake and crafts is a must for a visit, husband had a sandwich and it was spot on, cake was lovely as well. The wee shoppe has everything as well and it is not an overpriced convenience shop. If you are in any doubt and have questions about the area I would suggest joining i love gardenstown on Facebook. The hotel in the town has a small bar for non residents again lovely owners. Ladies a visit to the loo is a must!! Best I’ve ever been in!
