Lovely clean accommodation with very friendly staff. Great selection for breakfast which we all really enjoyed. The location is brilliant and near to the sea front. It's only about half an hours drive into the centre of Edinburgh.

We were made very welcome at The Bonnie Badger by all the staff who were very friendly. The room was beautifully clean - gorgeous bath! We travelled with our dog and she was also made very welcome - a bed and bowl were provided. We were absolutely delighted that Maisie was also welcome in the Stable Restaurant as we had thought we may only be able to eat in the Bar area. The food was exquisite for both of our evening meals - the breakfast was high quality. It was lovely to have the jars with the fresh fruit and the special apple, yoghurt and home-made granola - this all made such a welcome change to the usual breakfast buffet approach of other hotels. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - whilst it was busy, we still felt it was peaceful and private. Thank you to everyone at the Bonnie Badger.

A suitable location for exploring East Lothian, visiting Edinburgh and, to some extent, Berwickshire. Well suited as a base for cycling/walking or as a destination given there are decent food options e.g. cafe Lantern Rouge and the hotels.
Yester castle ruins which has the "Goblins Hall" is a short walk from the town.

A beautiful untouched Scottish village.
A beautiful untouched Scottish village. Surrounded by lovely woodland and rolling hills. Near historic Haddington. A few hundred feet from the hotel are the imposing and elegant gates to Yester House. There is a nice cafe round the corner and a village shop. The church has a 17th to 18th century interior. One of the ministers emigrated and became a signatory of the American Declaration of Independence. So free-thinking!

There were no downsides to Gifford in our opinion.
There were no downsides to Gifford in our opinion. A picturesque, historic village perfectly situated for country walks, access to plenty historic castles and stunning beaches (Dirleton, Gullane, North Berwick and more) whilst also offering easy access to Edinburgh city centre. We went there by car, but there are buses into Edinburgh and a short taxi drive away there is a train station. For those with a car and an interest in Scottish history the castles at Tantallon (sadly closed at the moment for safety reasons) where the medieval powerhouse of the Douglas family lived and Direlton and Fast are worth visits in addition to the more obvious Edinburgh castle. A quiet location but with lively bars in the evenings giving an opportunity to meet local people. I recommend the atmosphere, with log fires and comfy couches, and the food at the Goblin 'Ha hotel although we didn't go in the other bar/hotel so this is no reflection on its service.

Could not comment on the Wi-Fi as did not try it out.
Could not comment on the Wi-Fi as did not try it out. Had to be at work for 8am, so couldn't try the breakfast. Room clean and comfortable, Excellent Evening Meal. Overall pleased with hotel premises.
Lovely picturesque village with a lot of greenery, playing field, park and off licence. It felt very safe and we’d happily return for another stay during the summer. Also the beds were comfortable and the bedding was hotel standard. My wife loved the sofa and the open plan living space is perfect for families.
I have stayed at the Tweedale 3 times and always enjoy the friendly welcome.
The breakfast at rhe hotel is very good with a number of different choices from a full Scottish through to Haddock.
The hotel also has a nice traditional country feel with comfortable beds. I will definitely back in the future..
It was a last minute booking, I had stayed there only 10 days before.

The hotel was situated in a quiet location, but had good links to the motorway network making it easy to travel around. The staff were friendly and helpful and made you feel welcome.
Lovely village. Waitress in the outdoor area was incredible! Chips were lovely! Bed was comfy, charming wee hotel and they were very accommodating for our dogs.
