Lovely room, clean and comfortable with a functional fire in the room.
Check in was quick and easy and the owner/staff were lovely.
Food was delicious, starter and mains were beautifully presented and much better than the expected ‘pub grub’

The Glasbury community welcomes visitors. If you enjoy outdoor activities in a stunning location, then you won’t be disappointed. However if you rely on public transport, this may create some issues in your travel arrangements.

I never went to Glasbury as The River Cafe no longer...
I never went to Glasbury as The River Cafe no longer operates snd although my payment was taken, but my booking was.never made. Do not book this place on Booking.com as it does not exist any more. I am waiting for my refund. I am so disappointed with Booking.com as they don’t listen when I tell them that The River cafe does not operate any more. I know this because the former owner contacted me when they got my booking through Booking.com.

A very nice hotel in a quiet location near Hay on Wye.
A very nice hotel in a quiet location near Hay on Wye. Breakfast was very good and the rooms were comfortable and of a high specification. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking on site.
We arrived in the afternoon. There were no staff to greet us but we were provided with a key and a letter to describe the hotel and facilities. The hotel was incredibly quiet, we went off-season and there were only two other rooms that were booked. It's not on a busy road, it's in a rural location which meant it was not noisy. The breakfast was amazing, great quality ingredients that came hot and a good sized portion. It's about a 5-minute drive from Hay-on-Wye.
stunning location, very well appointed rooms overlooking the beautiful Welsh countryside from your bed. breakfast served in-room, kick open the patio doors and take in the view.
hosts were very warm and accommodating, Whinnie the whippet was a lovely welcome each morning too! breakfast of a high standard. huge comfy bed.
excellent location, only 0.8miles to Foyles Restaurants in Glasbury… no need to drive!
Andy and Sally did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. The accommodation was comfortable and the breakfast offered plenty of choice with more than enough to eat. Snacks or light bites were rustled up with a smile when requested. It’s also a pub/B&B that is at the heart of the Glasbury community with views over the river Wye.
Cwmbach Lodge is exceptional - I stay in a lot of different hotels and b&bs for work and pleasure and this is the first time I can say a place was truly exceptional. stunning location, peaceful, tasteful decor, great breakfast, lots of attention to detail and really friendly hosts.
Convenient to Hay-on-Wye and Glasbury.
Room was well appointed and a good size,
Made to order breakfast that was tasty and a lot of options. There is a bar and restaurant but it wasn’t open the night we stayed there.
Ample on site parking available
The perfect stay in quaint Glasbury - a well appointed room that was clean and comfortable, and a short walk from the nearest pub and restaurant. The room is nicely decorated and gets lovely afternoon sunlight, we would highly recommend.
Fantastic hospitality, the owner is so helpful and friendly and can’t do enough to make your stay comfortable. Pet friendly hotel the rooms the bar they even have treats for your dog
