Service throughout was excellent, being both friendly and efficient.
My room was a little small, but perfectly comfortable for one person. Might have been a bit tight with two.
Breakfast was very good, and set me up nicely for a full day of work at the nearby IWM Duxford.

Good location for the breakfast and the quality of the food was mixed (My wife thought her's was excellent but mine was mised ). The service was good but the one staff member serving ( believed to be the owner ) was inexperienced and clearly stretched but was friendly and as efficient.

Comfortable and stylish annexe which was it was close to where we wanted to be.
We’d forgotten to buy some milk, however the host’s father dropped off some a litre off and also sorted out the TV . There are no shops in Wendens Ambo so this saved us a trip into Saffron Walden .

Not much to see in the immediate area, but some beautiful old buildings, a couple of pubs one serving A wide range of Thai food, the other Greene King chain although limited menu. It was well placed for visiting attractions in the surrounding area. Railway station within walking distance and park and ride for Cambridge about 6miles away.

We booked this hotel to visit Audley End for a concert.
We booked this hotel to visit Audley End for a concert. I think on reflection it was a little bit too far away as we had to book cabs to the venue which was an expense I hadn't factored in. That aside we enjoyed our stay at Great Chesterford. Very pretty countryside. The hotel had a lovely courtyard garden where we enjoyed a drink, our bed was comfortable and breakfast was delicious. The hotel has a very relaxed, unstuffy feel to it which was good for us.

I was made very welcome!
I was made very welcome! I had my dog with me and he was made very welcome too. Water was provided for him and so was breakfast!
They were not doing food in the evening, but arrangements were made for me to ha e a pizza delivered.
As a disabled person I was welcomed and my disability catered for by providing a suitable room with walk-in shower.

We went to Great Chesterford intending on staying 3 nights to enable visits to Cambridge and Saffron Walden. We cut our stay short due to poor facilities at the B&B and the constant noise from aircraft and the roads.
We did visit Saffron Walden. Lovely old buildings, sadly the Fry Gallery was closed (our fault - it was a Monday) but the Bridge End Gardens were pleasant.
However, the town centre was full of multi national stores, crowded by traffic and rather soulless.
The town was not disabled friendly - pavements or commercial premises.
We left Great Chesterford after one night and travelled to Ely which was by contrast to Saffron Walden very disabled friendly, with pavements, shops, cafes, cathedral and other facilities like parking and toilets easily accessible.

Hotel staff were very welcoming, accommodating and efficient. The gardens were in full bloom providing a beautiful setting for the attractive old Georgian buildings. We had a very comfortable night followed by a really good cooked breakfast. We particularly liked the delicious bacon, sausages and hash browns.
I had a suite in the main house. Clean, spacious room in a traditional style, well taken care of, the WiFi worked alright. The stuff was very polite. The hotel is at about 8 and 10 minutes walk from the two pubs of the village that serve food (with the first one serving only Thai or pizza).
The property itself is hugely charming. Although itself is in need of some modernisation, the staff maintain it to a high standard of cleanliness and its location (proximity to Cambridge, the railway station and superb village of Great Chesterford) makes it a compelling combination.
The best thing about the Crown House is it has a totally authentic old Inn feel but with all the modern luxuries you'd want from a hotel. The staff went out of their way for us and the breakfast in the morning was lovely. We'll be back!
Staff were friendly on arrival and check in was really quick and easy.
Room was very clean and a good size.
Bed was comfy.
Easy walking distance to everything in Great Chesterford. Train Station is also close by.
The staff and owners were very nice and offered great hospitality, we took our dog with us and this hotel is very pet friendly, the accommodation is great and breakfast was delightful. Defiantly would use again
Excellent hotel. Has some local historical value which was revealed by the staff. e.g old tunnel to the local church dating back to the Civil war.
Excellent garden made a pleasant way to have a quiet drink.
Lovely hotel friendly staff. The breakfast was a choice from a menu or full English, fruit yoghurt, and fruit juice.
Clean comfortable room.
Convenient for visiting our family.
