Coffee terrible, complained to manager who saved the day by giving us an extra shot to make the decaffeinated coffee acceptable. Good strong decaf is available in todays coffee scene. We have Starbucks coffee beans at home all the time, our decaf is excellent. This hotel chain needs to catch up with today’s coffee standards.
Just 5 minutes from Stansted Airport, this hotel offers breakfasts and dinner at the hotel restaurant. Central London is only a 45-minute train journey away.

After a long flight I needed accommodation close by the airport and was fortunate to find the stables with airport transfers to and from the airport at minimal fees tbf they didn’t charge me at 5 in the morning. Also left some sentimental boose earbuds in the room which they immediately got staff to clean room and kindly posted them back to me! Rare in this day in age 🙏

Location was perfect for what I needed. The place is immaculate, underfloor heated, hepa filtered air, great shower, lovely hosts, and one of my personal favourites, a smart TV. Nothing negative to say and would definitely stay there again. Can't recommend highly enough. If you want a nice place to eat, there is one 5 mins down the road that the host will tell you all about.

Blatches Farm is a friendly, family run establishment. All the staff are pleasant, welcoming and happy to do anything to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. They interact with all their visitors and encourage interaction amongst the visitors, which made our stay more like a home away from home.

What an amazing village/town.
What an amazing village/town. Really pretty and fantastic shops. Planning to come back at Christmas to do all my gift shopping. I'm a charity shop fiend and bought the most amazing items - stool, belt, mans shirt and a silver designer dress suit. Amazing walks around the village and such friendly folk!

On the site of it's advertisement it's got picture of a full English breakfast . And states very good breakfast included ! The day we set off we got an email to say no full English breakfast . This should have been stated on the site before booking . You could not turn heating off so when opened windows you could here everyone drunk and stunk of smoke . I suffer from real bad anxiety and would not dare go and raise the issues . This was making me Ill . I asked for room to be cleaned 2 days in to our stay and our bedding wasnt changed and bins were still full . Nearly broke my back on the one way system as carpets are all same colour and the step has no warning so that hurt a bit as you can't make it out . The carpets on stairs were pitted with muck and stains and felt dirty .

We only spent one evening in the village, but it felt very far from the "commuter Essex" we have known closer to London. Neither did it feel as close to Stansted Airport as one might have expected. No particular tourist sights or attractions, but Great Dunmow (and perhaps the Saracen's Head) might be a good base from which to see other sights, deeper into Essex and Suffolk.
Everything. We felt so welcome here, Ruth and her husband were so accomodating, they went over and above to help us get taxi back from an event with another couple staying at the guest house. They couldn't do enough for us. The facilities here are great, the swimming was lush and a great experience in the cinema room with the moving chairs. The bed is also one of the comfiest I've ever slept in. The rooms are spacious and the hugest house is located very close to great Dunmow Town.
Perfect hideaway in a beautiful bit of countryside. The barn is extremely well appointed; it was indeed “immaculate” and everything has been thought of to make your stay comfortable. Although close to the main house, it was incredibly quiet throughout our stay and we both slept like logs thanks to the blackout blinds and comfy bed/bedding. The hosts made us feel very welcome – we didn’t need anything during our stay but it was good to know they were nearby in case we had.
Very welcoming staff. I arrived with my Father and felt the staff were very attentive and ensured that our overnight stay was positive. We arrived after 9:30pm- so the Inn were no longer serving food. However, the staff were so helpful and called the nearest restaurant to deliver to us. They even provided us with plates and cutlery which was most appreciated. I would highly recommend anyone who is planning on visiting the area to stay here.
Good-sized bedroom annex (double + single beds + 2 comfy chairs + large ensuite shower room) and off street parking behind Motts cottage on Stebbing's high street. It's the only letting room. The lady of the house provides a friendly and personal service for breakfast in her home, Mott's cottage. Stebbing is a pretty village, near Great Dunmow and well located for Stansted airport (8) or exploring the beautiful north Essex countryside.
Lovely private space in the annexe, surrounded by beautiful gardens. The annexe is spacious, has a nice ensuite bathroom and we appreciated the large TV with all the channels including Netflix and Disney and WiFi connection. Well cooked and great choice of breakfast served by Diane, who is friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a day out to Cambridge and had a pleasant meal at the Angel and Harp in a nearby village.
At first appearance. I thought where are we?. The hotelier welcomed us and showed us the room. Very private. But very isolated. Busy farm area. But die to dry weather. The surrounding location was almost grey rather than greenery a round the property. But that couldn't be helped
Absolutely beautiful farm! Amazing views to wake up to from the shepherd's hut. Would highly recommend, everything and more that was needed. Amazing hospitality from the owners and loved having the chickens near the hut.
I needed to be close to Stansted Airport but didn’t want to stay in an airport hotel. my requirements were it must have its own restaurant, a private car park and free wifi. the Saracens Head had all 3.
Nice and cosy hotel and pub with a very comfortable room. The breakfast was very good and the service, too.
The food in the pub was very good and the outdoor area neat.
