The folks working at hotel were good. The hotel is a bit rustic but sort of fun. The breakfast was very nice. Would stay again.

The breakfast choice was good. Secure parking for my motorbike was provided in a locked compound. The roof in my room (No 2) was very low and although there was a dedicated bathroom and toilet you needed to access them with separate keys, very fiddly. The food and beer in the pub was very good if a little pricey.

This is a fantastic location and well furnished.
This is a fantastic location and well furnished. The only drawback is the last bit of the road to the house. If your car has good ground clearance then don't hesitate as you should have a wonderful time.

Benmore cottage was lovely and cosy could do some updating.
It was easy to find, Gunnerside itself is very small it was pretty with the sun shinning, however the pub advertised had shut down although menus were left in the cottage for us, so disappointed..
Gunnerside was good for us as a base to travel about.
We took lots of food and did most of the cooking ourselves.
We did go to the Punchbowl for a meal which was nice but did have to
drive.
Yes we enjoyed Richmond Hawes Keld and lots of beauty spots.
