Breakfast was good quality and seemed to be limitless! My only small problem was my sink plug didn't open as it should but I did not complain as this was such a minor issue. I would definitely choose to stay here again.

I've stayed at The George before, as it is well located for when I'm visiting the local area. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The accommodation is very pleasant and the food is generally good.

I received a good welcome and a choice of room. Both options were characterful and a bit special. There were lovely little extras in the room. The breakfast was superb and I could have ordered dinner if I had been hungry.

I didn't stay because we were given a twin room when we had booked a double - because apparently there was a leak in one of the double rooms. There are only three rooms available at this pub, and my guess is they had either double booked our room, or if there actually was a leak in one of the two double rooms, it's because we were last there that we didn't get a room.
The manager, although very polite, was of no use and did not deal with our complaint, and offered no compensation - apart from a refund and advised to "go and book in at the guest house down the road"!!!!!!
It was a Friday night, and the pub, restaurant and rooms were run by only two staff!!!!! No wonder he had no time to deal with my complaint.
Advise not to book a room at this pub. It is cheap for a reason - and I found out why it was cheap the hard way!!!!!
Our weekend was ruined, as it was too late to find another room anywhere - so we had a wasted 220 mile round trip. I simple phone call advising me of the leak in my room would have avoided all this. Totally thoughtless and unprofessional, and no respect to customers
