The heating didn't work. The boiler didn't have the necessary pressure to start up. The owner just told me to start the heater. Despite trying to start it for 1 hour, it still didn't work.

Crowwood Hotel and Alba Restaurant, hotel in Kilsyth

The restaurant had a tasty mixture of Indian and Scottish menus, which was interesting....though the free poppadoms seemed a little stale.

The location is perfect for the BMX track, which we came for as my grandson competes. We are back again in 3 weeks for a longer stay. Just a shame the red deer does not do breakfasts.

Kilsyth is a town full of history from the mines to the weaving. It should really have a museum in the main street. Colzium is a beautiful park with flowers and walks. The main street is a sad shadow of its former self but still worth a walk and a pie from Rennies the bakers.

The location was spot on to visit the attractions and to explore the region .The town itself was typical of many towns across the UK ,run down and in need of some TLC but on a plus point the people were very friendly

Location perfect . Made to feel welcome by staff in hotel. In restaurant spacious surroundings delicious extensive menu. Range of alcoholic non alcoholic drinks, enjoyed special prosecco Cocktail!! . Breakfast had number if choices to suit different appetites. Good family establishment who cater for children and wel behaved dogs. Comfortable surroundings in room quite stylish. Fine aromatic therapy products in made in Scotland of course. Views out onto water, boats and hillside scenery.

Service and food were exceptional, even though they were short staffed we felt very well looked after. We felt that the boat house management are really making an effort to improve the hotel. There is plenty of parking directly outside the hotel, a pleasant decking area too. The towels and bed linen were clean and good quality. there was plenty of tea/coffee etc in the rooms and nice toiletries. Water in the in-room fridge and our friends had a small bottle of Sherry and 2 glasses in their room!

spotlessly clean, modern well run hotel and restaurant with great food and friendly staff. Had a great nights sleep in a large very comfortable bed with crisp fresh clean linen. very scenic looking out in to the water and seeing the barges parked up and people canoeing. The hotel is dog friendly which is great as there is many walking routes around as well as a really well thought out sensory garden across the road. plenty of parking. I will most definitely return.

Great location with interesting views and fantastic access to walking trails. The rooms are nice and provide everything needed. The restaurant and bar are well stocked and comfortable. I will recommend to both my friends and family in the USA as well as my local family in Scotland.

Having stayed there before a few years ago we knew what to expect. The staff were all friendly and efficient. The Breakfast was first class. The public areas have been recently decorated and the owners appear to be upgrading the Hotel in stages.
