Situated in a lovely rural location with fabulous views: the only sounds were those of birdsong and bleating lambs. It’s the best equipped house we’ve ever stayed in, there was nothing you could hope for that wasn’t available and spotlessly clean. We had a most comfortable and warm stay as the weather was on the cool side. Our hosts were so welcoming and full of information on great walks and days out. We will definitely be back!
Wonderful surrounding countryside complements the splendour of this Victorian-style, family-owned holiday and conference hotel in the centre of the spa town of Llandrindod Wells

A quiet village on the main roads from Newtown to Llandrindod Wells. There are no facilities or visitor attractions in the village but the Lion Hotel is well located for walking and trips to mid-Wales attractrions.
The owners were incredibly welcoming and the food (especially the authentic curry) was brilliant. The hotel is situated in an idyllic Welsh setting on the valley floor with rolling hills, a stream, sheep and cattle all within view of the beer garden.
All in all I couldn't recommend this place enough.
Lovely traditional Inn /hotel with clean rooms , all the trmmings and friendly staff. Proper local atmosphere . Even moved garden furniture to allow space for our motorcycles under cover ! Great evening meal.(best poppadums i have ever eaten) Great country views thrown in for good measure .
From check in to checkout everything was great. The owners were really friendly and enjoyed conversation. Nothing was to much trouble. It was lovely and clean.
The hotel was as I would expect for the history and location lovely country feel. The curry for dinner was really tasty.
Janet and Ray are welcoming, friendly, and helpful.
I am coeliac and Janet provided an excellent variety of meals to choose from. All the food was delicious.
I would definitely recommend Lion Hotel to friends and family and I will go back there next time I'm in the area.
99% of things about this place were excellent and exceeded my expectations. In this hotel history meets modern simplicity. People are very friendly and little pretty flower garden has various chicken and fowl to observe.
Very good breakfast and location. Great Welsh hosts who had a wealth of local knowledge. Beautifully renovated room with an excellent shower in a nice county hotel. Would thoroughly recommend.
Beautiful location and the hotel was spotless. The host was very welcoming with some fantastic stories to tell, as well as an abundance of local knowledge. We would definitely return.
This is truly a unique place, it feels more like a guest house than a pub hotel and the owners are very warm and welcoming with nothing being to much trouble. The views are stunning.
Lovely hotel with well maintained outdoor/garden areas and pleasant views of the surrounding countryside.Friendly welcoming hosts. Good value meals on offer.
