The cottage is absolutely stunning. From the minute we booked to the minute we left, the owners of the cottage were so helpful and kind with everything, from telling us how to get there to even giving lunch recommendations. The bed is so comfy and the kitchen is extremely clean and easy to use. They had everything you would need. We enjoyed a few nights in at the cottage just because it was so lovely and homely. The little sea side towns are only 20-30 minutes away, so it’s near everything you need to have a good holiday!! I honestly couldn’t speak more highly of this cottage and would recommend anyone to stay.

Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice.
The staff were wonderful and so friendly and helpful, even making me a birthday cake and decorating our table. Nothing was too much for them.
It was obviously a very popular and well used pub by locals.

Lots of shops and restaurant very quiet over Christmas and facilities shut. However, before and after Christmas hols very interesting with lots of restaurants and little shops. Church offered Midnight Mass. We booked for Duchy of Cornwall restaurant for all our lunches, which was fabulous as well as shop full of Bungalow items and garden plants and pots etc Christmas gifts galore! . Booked for Christmas Lunch at Michell's in Polperro, lovely Pate and Christmas pudding was light and lovely, this restaurant was only 20 mins away by car with car parking. Lostwithiel has lots of lovely country side with many places to walk and explore. We intend to revisit.

Pictuesque old town once you turn off the main road.
Pictuesque old town once you turn off the main road. However, be aware many of the roads are very narrow and some are very steep. Some junctions are impossible to drive around, so dont trust your satnav!

Attractive little town ... very walkable.
Attractive little town ... very walkable. We had two memorable meals at The Globe Inn ... including a Ginger & Black Treacle Sponge that was to die for. Stayed at the Penrose Bed & Breakfast ... wonderful place, great atmosphere, fantastic views.
Chris and Heidi were perfect hosts. they went out of their way to make our stay comfortably. Because of the high temperature Chris changed the duvet on our beds for a lovely soft sheet. The breakfast was very rich and yummy.
The room was spacious. And it was a shirt walk from the B&B to the center of Loswithiel/ Lostwithiel is a nice little town, a perfect starting point to explore the beautiful coastal towns of Charlestown, Mevagessy and Fowey.
Our dog was very welcome too. Thank you Chris and Heidi!!!
What an amazing cottage, everything you need is here. Warm, cosy and perfect for a weekend get away. The bed was extra comfy, shower had amazing pressure and the cottage was decorated beautifully. We were in Cornwall for a wedding and left the event a bit early to get back to enjoy the accommodation! Hosts were very easy to deal with, friendly and sent through some useful tips before our stay. Definitely opt for late check out cause trust me you won’t want to leave!!!
Room was small but comfortable. Fan was already in the room - it was very warm weather. Breakfast menu was good. We ate in the hotel restaurant on the first night, intending to eat elsewhere on our second night. However, the good was so good, we decided to eat there on our second night too. Service on the second night wasn't the best, but the food more than made up for it. Overall a good three star hotel, reasonably priced.
The property is a self contained little flat in the garden of the main property which has its own entrance and is very quiet. Annalie was really helpful and flexible, even proactively offering a later checkout. The place is small but has everything you need. While there isn't a dedicated parking space, there was plenty of on road parking nearby so isn't an issue. Would definitely recommend a stay.
Very cosy pub with friendly, welcoming staff who made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Our room and bathroom facilities were excellent, the bed was especially comfortable.
We can’t sing Jess and her staff’s praises highly enough, we recommend the Earl of Chatham to anyone staying in Cornwall, you won’t be disappointed!
We simply needed a bed for the night whilst visiting family In Lostwithiel. This was a lovely little property, very well resourced for a two person stay (even had a washing machine). Sadly, we didn’t get to use the sauna. Perhaps next time.
Extremely cosy and comfortable with an easy checking in / checking out system.
Village lovely, central, parking, cosy but spacious. Not modern at all but I really liked the vibe. Nick is a nice guy who owns the place. Very pleasant. We stayed at 5 different places and this ran out second. The first being VERY expensive. We will head back here when next in Cornwall.
Chris and Hydie were extremely accommodating and polite. We wished we could have stayed longer. Breakfast was great, the room was extremely comfortable and the views were spectacular. Lostwithiel itself is so calm and peaceful, we went to the Globe for dinner and wow!
All the staff were friendly and helpful. The Hotel was clean and comfortable. We were given the option of an upgraded room, but our room was big enough and comfortable. The restaurant did lovely meals with very good portion sizes, and breakfast was very good.
The cottage was lovely, well-equipped and reasonably priced for the area. We enjoyed the friendly pub next door and the village environment. It was a great base to explore Cornwall. The manager responded quickly to any questions we had.
I came to this Hotel over 30 years ago and really enjoyed my stay with my Family.
Well I must say after 30 years we have really enjoyed ourselves again and we will return again.
Lovely hotel in a lovely quite location.
Breakfast was excellent and set us up well for the day. Loved our room on the top floor with a nice view of Lostwithiel. The bathroom was spacious and highly functional, and everything was very clean.
Friendly proprietor, but not overly intrusive. Lovely setting and a great location from which to explore Cornwall. Clean, tidy, spacious and lots of character to this property. Thank You Pia.
We weren't actually planning to stay in Lostwithiel but the hotel is about a 3 minute walk from the train station, so it was ideal. The staff were really friendly and helpful.
Lovely, well equipped apartment in a great location to explore Cornwall. The apartment was perfect for a break over the holidays - would definitely recommend staying here.
