I stayed in Lowick, a small village as I was joining a trip to Lyndisfarne which is only a few miles away. I liked the fact that the village is close to the A1 but far enough away to avoid the noise of this busy road.

A beautifil wee village with 2 very good pub / restaurarants at either end. A great spot to decamp and strike out to Bamburgh or some of the other glorious spots in this beautiful part of the country. It's one of those places you'd think too good too not keep secret! Brilliant. We will be back there soon.

Lowick is a great place to stay when travelling up to Scotland - we used our visit to break the journey. It is a beautiful little village, with two great pubs (we stayed in the White Swan and ate in the Black Bull).
Absolutely beautiful hotel absolutely spotless rooms were cosy and warm and done up to a high standard with tea and coffee making facilities and lovely treats too. Staff were absolutely fantastic Lorna was so sweet and nothing was too much trouble made our stay so lovely. Food both in the hotel and pub were out of this world the breakfast was absolutely gorgeous all the good freshly cooked to order and locally sourced which is lovely to see would definitely recommend the black bull and I'll definitely be staying again!!!! ❤️
The White Swan is situated in the centre of the village opposite the village store. Our room was very large and comfortable and being in the village was quiet. The walk in shower was excellent, however the shower tray was very slippery and needs a bath mat - we used a towel. Both our evening meals and breakfasts were excellent. The hotel staff were really good and extremely helpful. Excellent wifi connection. This hotel was very Corvid 19 compliant. I have no hesitation in recomending this hotel.
Lovely friendly helpful staff. Thank you Hazel! You were still smiling and calm even when you were the only person doing everything! Food at breakfast and dinner was outstanding, thank you chef! Bedroom was lovely; spacious, well appointed, large comfortable bed, great shower in a lovely spacious bathroom. Lowick is a great little village, only 20 min drive from Lindisfarne and 25 from Bamburgh. Perfect!
The staff at the hotel are helpful and friendly, our room was very spacious as was the shower room, the bar's cosy with a woodburning stove, dinner was excellent (several choices for vegetarians), so was breakfast. Easy to access walks with our dogs from the hotel, and it was only a few miles to drive to Lindisfarne.
Lovely hotel situated in a quaint little village. Very clean, etremely friendly staff, great facilities and amazing food, possibly the best steak pie we've ever had and a tremendous breakfast. Great location for exploring Northumbria and South East Scotland.
Excellent food for both dinner and breakfast.
Comfortable bed, tasteful furnishings and decor, and friendly helpful staff.
Free parking and wi-fi.
We had a really enjoyable stay at The Black Bull Inn in Lowick and would definitely stay there again.
This hotel was clean and rooms were comfortable and well furnished.Staff were all pleasant and attentive.Breakfast was included which was excellent.Good location for exploring Northumberland.Wouldn’t hesitate to book again for a future trip.
our first night of vacation after a long day of flights and delays to be welcomed by the friendliest staff and enjoy drinks and desserts in the restaurant was a perfect end! We would absolutely come back to Lowick and The White Swan ❤️
Everything. Very clean and bright. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast and great value. We were walking the St Cuthbert’s way and the hotel organised pick up from and drop off on the route.
Absolutely everything. It was truly 100% perfect. Staff, bedroom excellent, evening meal was amazing, breakfast really very good and I would highly recommend staying here if anywhere near this area.
We wanted an overnight stop when on long journey. The hotel was near enough to the A1 to not extend the distance but far enough away to be quiet. Great food and very comfortable room.
