I liked the value of the room compared to local competitors. The breakfast was nice, and better than what some lower priced hotels offer.
Pleasantly surprised by the size of the room, after opting for the cheapest option. Nice, good sized bathroom.
Nice staff who helped when I asked questions, and easy parking after enquiring.

Room was good, although a shame windows could not be opened. Meal was ok, considering the small scale on which kitchen operating on the evening we were there.

The Portland Hotel doesn't look like much from the outside but I had a beautiful, comfortable room right next to Leas Cliff Hall. Friendly staff too. It's an excellent spot if you are visiting for Folkestone parkrun - the start is right next to the hotel.
