Excellent one or two person cottage in the hamlet of Monyash...
Excellent one or two person cottage in the hamlet of Monyash. Cottage has everything required for a very pleasant stay and is tucked away in a quiet location. On site parking - which is always a bonus. Monyash is small but has a pub (which was recommended but I didn't try) and a tea shop, which is open daily for walkers and cyclists. Local to Monaysh is Lathkill Dale National Nature Reserve which is well worth an explore. Other walks were signposted. Close by is Bakewell and Buxton. Stunning views and a lovely Place to stay. We stayed in an excellent cottage really nice inside and out. Great place to walk and take in the amazing views. I only had one bad thing to say about staying in monyash that i struggled to find some where to eat being a vegetarian. But all in all a great place to go if you love long walks and amazing viewsThompson - 10Scored 10

Our destination was Cressbrook, so we did not have much time...
Our destination was Cressbrook, so we did not have much time to explore Moneyash, but it is certainly a quiet, pleasant Derbyshire village. And, with Dovedale, Buxton, Bakewell, Monsal Head and all the other glorious countryside surrounding easily accessible, it would be a centre to keep in mind - especially when all the more well-known centres are likely to be fully booked and heaving, as they were over he Bank Holiday weekend.
