A very warm and welcoming place with professional staff and lovely food and accommodation. A great location to visit other places like Cirencester, Stroud and Tetbury. Loved it 😀
In gardens and woodland, the Hare & Hounds is a charming, traditional English country house hotel, with a popular restaurant and bar. The Westonbirt National Arboretum is half a mile away.

Breakfast was delicious with a good selection for all tastes. The location is in a large double height space which can feel impersonal as it is often reconfigured to provide breakfast for wedding guests at long tables, which harms any feeling of intimacy.
The Ragged Cot in Minchinhampton provides accommodation with a garden and a terrace. Among the various facilities of this property are a bar and on-site dining. Free WiFi is included.

First morning bacon was leathery and inedible. The 2nd day was good, eggs benedict. Evening meal was very nice.

Nailsworth is a beautiful village in the Cotswolds- location is stunning. Unfortunately the hotel looks amazing from outside but is dirty and lacks ambiance. We have stayed there for many years but since a new company took over it has gone downhill.

As we had been travelling with quite a bit of luggage, we wanted a base to travel from. We had a car so we travelled north to some of the Cotswold villages like Stanton, Bourton on the Water and Buckley which was about an hour drive, with other villages on the way. The drive to Bath to the South was about the same length of time. If staying in a self contained apartment centrally, you can save money with the choice of a few supermarkets and takeaways within walking distance.
Also if staying in the centre of the village and you need to park on the street, a lot of the parking is timed between 8am and 6pm (free), which can make it difficult but there is a Free long stay park in the village. Road through the village can be quite busy. We didn’t explore the whole village as all we needed for our stay was within walking distance once settled.
Some of the restaurant choices were Italian, Chinese (very good value and all the dishes we had were great) and Indian.

Nailsworth is a very small, quaint town with some independent shops and a supermarket. We had a fabulous meal at Amalfi (Italian restaurant in the town) and would highly recommend this, excellent food and service (and I am super picky about restaurants)

Nailsworth is on of the most attractive small towns on the edge of the Cotswolds. It also has great cafes and good restaurants. Some of the best walks can be found within 5 miles. There is also a golf course on the common above with fantastic views. Cirencester is also a few miles away and is a beautiful town just to walk around (maybe a Cream Tea!). Cheltenham is also only 12 miles away with its splendid Regency Houses.

Nailsworth is very pretty town set in a lovely valley. It has lots of character and charm and was an ideal size to explore. It has a central location for visiting other villages in the southern Cotswolds.
There are many eating options.
We would not hesitate to recommend Nailsworth as a destination to spend at least 2 or 3 days in. We would also suggest the Egypt Mill Hotel as a place to stay.

Lovely location, although not what you think when looking for it. Once in the carpark we could see the beauty of the old building. Very atmospheric. Great wedding location.
The Lovely room we had on our 3nd visit. We ate in the restaurant. We don't know Nailsworth as we travelled down from Derbyshire on holiday so can't really comment on area. We would probably try to avoid toany steps.
In our travels through England, Scotland, and Ireland, this was our very favorite accommodation! The apartment was cozy and had so many thoughtful little touches. We even ate a very quick dinner so we could get back and enjoy the comforts of the apartment. Would 100 percent recommend this to anyone visiting Nailsworth.
Location was excellent, in a quiet courtyard on the edge of the town - although there was not a river view as advertised.
The apartments are very well equipped and are in the grounds of the old Railway Hotel - now all beautifully modernised.
Nailsworth is a charming town on the edge of the Coltswolds.
The house is very large and comfortable. The entire town of Nailsworth is a beautiful garden and your quintessential quaint British village. The home always had hot water and a washer and dryer! The home is just off one of the main streets so it was easy to walk to everything. We loved staying here!
A fabulous room! So comfortable and really big. There was everything you could need and a brilliant location in the centre of the charming village of Nailsworth. Lovely breakfast, with the nicest granola ever! We will definitely be staying again. Parking really easy.
It's a lovely, quaint cottage, with all the required facilities. The second bedroom is quite small, and crammed with two beds, so the kids need to be able to get along. Master bedroom is fantastic. Would stay again if going to the area.
Mat was extremely helpful friendly and available. Kitchen good. Dining table just enough for ten adults. Our spotless abd comfy downstairs bedroom and shower excellent though the best of all, I think. Very short walk into Nailsworth.
Just beautiful, when you walk up to the entrance there a little water fall , the old mill itself has original features inside.
Rooms lovely we had beams which was unexpected,we were very impressed all round with the hotel and staff.
Location was great as we were at a party in Nailsworth so within walking distance. Very clean and comfortable. Perfect poached eggs for breakfast, comfortable bed and lovely shower. Friendly host.
The rooms are spacious. The location is quiet and close to pubs, restaurants and shops. The furnishings were comfortable.
Lovely shared patio with chairs for evening drinks or morning coffee.
Great little studio to work from home and explore the area. Easy free parking, good wifi, lots of little shops and pubs walking distance. Good size space to cook and table for work.
Great room in the heart of Nailsworth. High standard and good overview of the street outside. Lots of complimentary snacks and drinks to choose from. Good beds. Nice bathroom.
A former Railway Hotel in excellent location. Helpful tips on local area from owner, the accommodation is well equipped to a high standard, very comfortable and clean.
Friendly staff excellent food lovely location by river sounds of the water from our room, nice large room good location for exploring cotswolds will be back
