Check-in was prompt and easy, accommodating our late arrival. Breakfast was well cooked and ample, with lots of choice, tea, coffee, fruit juice, cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit, cooked items - bacon, sausages, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, hash browns, fried eggs and toast.

We were upgraded. Large spacious room, very comfortable bed, nice quality linen.
There's a bath in the bedroom and the room is large enough for it not to be in the way!
Quiet location in centre of town (which is really lovely). Onsite parking right outside.
Breakfast and dinner both excellent. Great menu, quality food, friendly staff.

The Cottage was exactly as pictured on Booking.com. My family needed a very quiet bolt hole which was clean and had good wifi to recharge our batteries in the middle to a hectic trip. This is exactly what we got. The hosts are extremely warm and friendly. The location is absolutely tranquil. There was adequate off road parking for a large van. We got to have a river-side evening walk before a peaceful nights sleep. The cottage was very clean with every amenity considered. We even had a recommendation for breakfast the following day. The price is as you would expect for the area and worth every penny.

Lovely old country inn with very comfortable and spacious room (we stayed in superior room). Staff were very helpful. Food was excellent although not cheap and the roaring fire was very welcome after a day walking in the mud.

I didn't like anything about it. The wrong address was given on Booking.com. When I did find it there were nobody there. The front door was unlocked so I went in. There was no key for either internal or front door so no security. I called the phone number and the person said it was "self check-in" and that he'd have to call his partner to find out about the key and call me back. I didn't receive any call back, and so I couldn't stay cutting short my trip to return to London.

We visited New Alresford as we were going on the Watercress Line for the Christmas Illuminations experience. The town itself is small but beautiful and we enjoyed a little stroll around despite the fact that Covid restrictions are in place.

New Alresford is a small town with walks to the river and a traditional steam railway. So near to winchester with a good bus service. Relaxing, individual shops and a great place to relax. There is a good choice of restaurants and pubs. I would consider staying in New Alresford again and using public transport to get to winchester.
Staff so very friendly and helpful. Room was very well designed and pleasantly decorated. The most outstanding thing was the bed. Our nights sleep was sublime thanks to one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept on. Sometimes the pillows are the only thing that let a hotel bed down, NOT THIS ONE! The pillows were so soft, and comforting, yet at the same time quite supportive. Breakfast was excellent too. What more can one ask for?
Congratulations and a big thank you to The Swan Hotel.
Stayed in room at the front of the hotel. Very comfortable, slept very well
The staff were friendly and helpful, the choice at breakfast was plentiful. The first day I had poached egg on toast , the second day the full English.
Both meals were well cooked and tasty.
I have stayed here on many occasions and have never had cause to complain, I always enjoy my visits and am looking forward to the next one.
New Alresford it's self is a lovely town.
We loved New Alresford location. Also apartment was amazing and really well equiped, and quiet, and literally a few metres away from the main street. Perfect location. Also the host went out of their way to help swap over the apartment key after we left the wrong key behind. Sorry :)
We are a big family with several rooms booked - the hotel staff couldn’t have been more helpful. The staff waiting at table must have dreaded our family sitting down but they were pleasant and accommodating all the time. Thank you fir a wonderful stay.
A characterful hotel with wonderful staff keen to help in any way. Food in the restaurant was first class and very good value. Well placed for local touring. Excellent value and highly recommended.
