The Cottage was exactly as pictured on Booking.com. My family needed a very quiet bolt hole which was clean and had good wifi to recharge our batteries in the middle to a hectic trip. This is exactly what we got. The hosts are extremely warm and friendly. The location is absolutely tranquil. There was adequate off road parking for a large van. We got to have a river-side evening walk before a peaceful nights sleep. The cottage was very clean with every amenity considered. We even had a recommendation for breakfast the following day. The price is as you would expect for the area and worth every penny.

Very clean and comfortable - the smell of the room made me feel like I was in a spa! Loved the extra touches (tea and coffee facilities) and soaps. Very accommodating to letting me have a later check out time so I could sleep after my night shift! I would 100% love to stay again (when not working!) Was lovely to sit on the terrace to eat dinner in the sun.

The Woolpack Inn is a wonderful and authentic Inn. The location and facilities of the Inn were superb. Lots of parking space, easily reachable and with lovely terrace. The bar looked cozy and had tons of drinks and beers.
We really enjoyed our breakfast, it was freshly made and a fine combination between a regular European breakfast and a British accent. What we also loved was the fact that all the produce and ingredients were (day) fresh, because you have to indicate which days you'd like to have breakfast. We didn't have dinner at the Woolpack Inn, however judging on the menu and how fresh the breakfast was, dinner promises to be good as well.
Staff was super friendly and helpful. Fairly young and modern as well, which gave a nice vibe to the place. It seemed like there were interns at work as well, and they were treated with respect, humor and professionally, in order to have them learn and have fun at the same time. Wonderful to see and experience.
We would definitely recommend the Woolpack Inn to friends and family and should we return to this part of the UK, we would definitely stay at the Woolpack Inn again.

The 2 staff members who checked me in were really nice but the staff member I spoke to a couple times during my stay was very unhelpful.
The room was also quite spacious.

We visited New Alresford as we were going on the Watercress Line for the Christmas Illuminations experience. The town itself is small but beautiful and we enjoyed a little stroll around despite the fact that Covid restrictions are in place.

New Alresford is a small town with walks to the river and a traditional steam railway. So near to winchester with a good bus service. Relaxing, individual shops and a great place to relax. There is a good choice of restaurants and pubs. I would consider staying in New Alresford again and using public transport to get to winchester.
Breakfast was perfect , good vegetarian options. Husband walks with a stick and our room I think was originally going to be upstairs it wasn't quite ready so we were then given room 25 which was perfect. Thank you very much for that . We will definitely stay again if we are ever in the area. This time it was for a wedding in Ropley so your Hotel was ideally situated.
Absolutely amazing... room was small for a twin but I was alone so not a problem... perfectly clean, lovely decor and very cozy... The hotel itself is very trendy and obviously a local hotspot, so much so I couldn’t eat that evening as they were fully booked, again only a good thing and not a problem for me
We loved New Alresford location. Also apartment was amazing and really well equiped, and quiet, and literally a few metres away from the main street. Perfect location. Also the host went out of their way to help swap over the apartment key after we left the wrong key behind. Sorry :)
Great breakfasts as usual. I also left my phone charger behind and they kindly rang me to ask me what I would like them to do with it (they kept it behind reception for me to collect later that day) - I am sure other hotels would not have bothered.
A characterful hotel with wonderful staff keen to help in any way. Food in the restaurant was first class and very good value. Well placed for local touring. Excellent value and highly recommended.
