It was a bright and airy place! Very clean and tidy! It was so close to Helston town Center only 7min walk!
The weather was wet and cold but we all were lovely and warm inside! Would definitely recommend it and would book to stay again!
I would imagine it is very busy in the summer. January is a great time to take a short trip here. Looks like a lot of holiday homes or second homes are here, but that did not take away our enjoyment of the location.
The coastal walks are amazing.

This is a real Gem - a beautiful little harbour, with interesting gift/craft shops, galleries, plenty of choices restaurants and pubs. Great outdoor seating and wonderful views out to sea. Not as busy as some places we visited in Cornwall which certainly added to its charm. It was interesting whatever the weather - a sunhaven and a great place to watch rough seas and high tides. the coast walk in either direction was wonderful with amazing views out to sea. A small beach on the otherside was a great space for those tempted to surf - though the water was pretty cold.

We like the unspoilt harbour .
We like the unspoilt harbour . There was a lot of building work when we were there but that will end. Also a road closure which caused heavy traffic to pass where we were staying. Breakfast facilities good close by.

Porthleven has a wide range of places to eat from the straightforward to the super fancy. It is a very attractive harbour filled with fishing boats. It has lovely cliff top walks in both directions. I would stay here again. It is not too far from St. Ives and Falmouth 30mins or so.

A quaint harbour with a variety of shops. It had a little beach but we didn’t have time to visit. Really liked the atmosphere and would definitely like to return. There was also a brass band playing outside the Harbour Inn on Sunday evening which attracted lots of people and created a lovely atmosphere.

Discovered Porthleven on a previous holiday when the poor weather kept us away from the beaches. It is an interesting and fascinating harbour with great access to the coastal paths. The floral cliffs are amongst the most colourful on the Lizard. We love the range of shops and cafés and the welcoming pubs. The locals are so friendly. There is also a good bus route that stops right at the harbour so that you can walk the coastline and catch a ride back. We also recommend Michael Caine’s Harbourside restaurant (taken over from Rick Stein) … we can’t keep away!
Sunnybank house was in a superb location, the views are stunning, Portleven is a really beautiful harbour with lots of lovely restaurants, pubs and shops. The people were especially friendly. Jeff was on hand at all times before, during and after our stay. The property was very clean and the kitchen was extremely well equipped, being able to all sit around the table to eat and look out at the sea was wonderful. The beds were very comfortable. Being able to take our dogs was an added bonus, the walks on the doorstep were amazing.
Harbour Inn was one of our favorite hotels we stayed at along our week-long trek of the South West Coast Path. We arrived just after 4pm and were quickly checked in and shown to our spacious hotel room on the second floor. We were also offered the option to book dinner which I'd highly recommend doing as we had a fantastic meal later in the night. Breakfast was amazing the next morning too. Our room was comfortable and quiet and we really enjoyed our stay. All of the staff were so friendly.
The location was great and Salvay was warm and comfortable for our short break. Having outside seating would be lovely for the warmer months. The bedroom was large and the bedding clean and fresh.
There were lots of books and games on the book shelves which is a lovely touch.
We love Porthleven and spend most of our short breaks here as it’s busy enough even in winter. We managed to find free parking within 2-3 minutes walk from the property.
The warm welcome I received was much appreciated (especially as I had arrived a little early). The hotel offered me somewhere safe to store my bike which gave me peace of mind as it was my main method of transportation. I will be booking to go back again as the location had so much to offer. The food on offer at the pub was great but there are also numerous options in the village.
We arrived to Porthleven after an eleven hours journey and appreciated the welcoming gifts. We used the heater at the evening as the weather was still chilly. The SKY box was a nice surprise. The double bed was very comfortable, we had quite nights. We had afternoon teas on the little terrace. The neighborhood was very welcoming.
The cottage was beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. It was a lovely space to relax in with lots of classy finishing touches. The kitchen was well equipped and the oven was great. it was a really short walk to the harbour and restaurants in Porthleven.
Classy modern decor. Very clean. Great location in the center of town near great restaurants. We were walking the SW Coast Path and appreciated that there was a radiator to dry our clothes on and also a small heater fan for the same purpose.
breakfast was lovely and served in the large diningroom, room was warm and cosy and loved being able to park the car nearby, hotel had a very warming feel and friendly staff.
