A delightful small town on the Moray Firth coast with historic harbour and famous as a film set for Peaky Blinders and Whisky Galore. Easy to walk around the narrow roads to explore the town. Wonderful cliff walks from the town and a very tranquil and beautiful park in the centre. All the basics can be bought in the coop, bakers, and fabulous ice-cream shop. Chinese and fish and chip takeaways, lovely cafes and station hotel serve good food and the charming Port Cafe is a real treat. It's only a short drive to several other charming fishing villages nearby along the coast.

Portsoy is a lovely place, and well worth a visit. The hotel is centrally located, with cafes nearby and Portsoy icecream which is delicious. The last series of “Peeky Blinders” was filmed at the harbour. Recommend a trip here.

Lovely harbour. Worth visiting the ice cream parlour.

Lovely harbour. Worth visiting the ice cream parlour. Beaches in the area are fabulous particularly Cullen and the cliff edge walk to the bow fiddle rock at Portknockie. Durnhouse is the place to eat. Non residents are welcome and the food is wonderful.

Portsoy has a beautiful harbour that is easy to walk around. It can be accessed by car and has parking and toilets, also a pub. You can walk up on to the headland and look out to sea, beautiful views. If you park in the actual town and walk down to the harbour it is a relatively steep hill.

Portsoy was just a suitable distance from home, about 1.5hrs but so completely different from our area. Beautiful rocky coastal scenery with lovely sandy beaches for the warmer weather. It is place to wind down and relax. Long coastal walks, ideal if you have a dog with you. Central to a large number of small coastal villages, each that but different and interesting. Check out Turriff, 11 miles inland, and look for the "Turra Coo". (Google it). The Station Hotel has great food and is popular with locals. A regular Bus Service passes through the town.

Portsoy has a lovely old harbour which is well maintained. Has been used in recent films. There are beautiful views of the Moray Forth. For a small town it has good facilities. There is a lovely bay with a small caravan site. The town is well worth a visit.

This is a “quaint” hotel, full of wonderful clutter and still very clean. The room (2nd floor) was perfect for one, cosy for two. Shower/bathroom immaculate and bed and amenities also perfect. Good WiFi if you need it. Easy parking outside the place and easy walk down to the port or up to the church. Portsoy is a quiet village, although peaceful is a better description! Just those pesky noisy seagulls, haha. I was there on a calm evening, I bet it’s wonderful when the waves are crashing in.

The hotel is well located for the beach, harbour, and all the local facilities. The rooms were really nice and very clean. The breakfast was average but the staff were excellent providing fantastic service. I would definitely go back but unless you can sleep through loud traffic and screeching seagulls take ear plugs!!! Obviously that’s not something the hotel can do anything about and hopefully a set of ear plugs will do the job on our next visit!

Great location so close to shops , cafe and hotel. Delightful cottage with comfortable beds, good shower and bathroom facilities. Room to park the car right at the door. Kitchen well equipped for 2 or 3 people, with 4 we would have had to argue over wine glasses! Nice sunny sittiootery.
