Everything was good but the shower was perfect and great to wake up with in the morning. Bed really comfortable.

A good value hotel within walking distance of the centre of Leicester, very convenient for the university, the hospital and the railway station. The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Comfy bed. Good breakfast served from 6.30 am which was essential for us. Fresh milk available in the room on request

Room was excellent, only stayed for one night so can’t comment further really. Staff were extremely helpful after a booking error that could have ruined our evening and potentially caused us a long drive home. We were embarking on a train trip within a couple of hours so wouldn’t have had time to organise alternative accommodation, which we would have had to pay for, even if there was anything available locally. As we had settled in full through booking.com there would also have been the pain of obtaining a refund. Thankfully the hotel was able to provide us with two super rooms. Which was brilliant.

I love staying here its my favourite hotel when we travel to this area for any reason and never book anywhere else been coming here for years. The staff are so friendly and helpful and the food is excellent. We held our mother's 90th birthday here and our 35th Wedding Anniversary a few years ago brilliant. We love the train station down the road and the village is in easy walking distance. There's a great little shop Norths near the railway bridge with wonderful treats and café worth a visit .

I was very much surprised, in a good way with the hotel.
I was very much surprised, in a good way with the hotel.
My single room was on the 2nd floor, which had spectacular views of the garden and the water feature. I wish I could have stayed longer!
The bathroom was a little outdated but clean and functional.
The floors throughout the hotel were very squeaky, which may only disturb you if you were a light sleeper.
I would certainly stay here again, staff were lovely, breakfast was awesome and the scenery was delightful!

Very pretty part of Leicestershire.
Very pretty part of Leicestershire. Absolutely NO MOBILE SIGNAL so you can hardly book a taxi except from a landline. Some people will love the fact that there's no mobile signal lol. Very good access to Swithlands, where we had a family wedding.

Both dinners in the restaurant were excellent, served by friendly and knowledgeable staff. Rooms were good, our room lock failed on second day so w were moved to another room. This was handled quickly and efficiently so no complaints. The Wi-Fi in the hotel was not working which was the only inconvenience.

First impression counts, hence our Room not having a phone, a TV remote control and the main lamp on the table not working reflects in our rating. Housekeeping should make a final check to ensure guests ' comfort.
All these were corrected as soon as the issues were raised. So top service from staff in front office. The hotel has some lovely grounds...very calming.
The hotel was historic and fantastic!!
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The food was delicious and I couldn't fault it.
They even printed off some information about the history of the building which I thought was great.
The bedroom was huge with a separate seating area and a serperate bathroom.
Wonderfully unique, an architectural and historical splendour which has been repurposed as a Greene King bar, restaurant and hotel. Just an amazing place in a fabulous countryside setting. We chose to stay in the main property which has amazing and original features, making the rooms delightfully quirky.
Authenticity. Original architecture. Fabulous quintessentially English countryside and warm-hearted staff who did their utmost at all times to create an amazing event. Best hotel breakfasts ever!
The hotel is a beautiful old building with stunning grounds and scenery all around. The staff are friendly and courteous and are happy to help whatever your needs.
