The Scullery - a quirky annex with wood fire, hotel in Saddleworth

The Scullery - a quirky annex with wood fire is set in Huddersfield, 27 km from Clayton Hall Museum, 28 km from Heaton Park, as well as 28 km from Etihad Stadium.

This snug little place is a master-class in design, construction and thoughtfullness. Dr Who's tardis has got nothing on this place! It was spotless, everything worked as it should, easy parking and in a lovely location. You have to be a little aware of headroom when traversing the stairs but nothing too difficult even for a six-footer like me. Peter and Emma could not have been more helpful and welcoming. Marsden is a nice place too, with plenty of walking, near and far, and lovely cafs and pubs. From the train station, it's only 10 mins to Huddersfield or around 30 to Manchester. Access by steps only to both the platforms in use though.

Beautiful little cottage with vintage furnishings maintaining the history of the building. Gorgeous real fire and logs provided. Amazing views across the hills with Manchester lighting up the sky in the distance. Fully equipped kitchen and modern bathroom. Excellent location to enjoy everything Saddleworth has to offer. Bread , milk , butter, jams provided. I would add a hot tub and garden furniture to compliment the whole experience.

I really loved my stay, I came here for work and was so happy to stay in a clean, comfortable and lovely house. The bed was so comfortable and I had the best nights sleep. The house was spotless and nicely decorated. The check in was a lock box so extremely easy. Definitely recommend.

It is more comfortable than a hotel to book a house. It was very clean, a lovely wood fire (even though I had to clean it out first). Great surroundings and safe with ample parking. Was able to come and go-as required.

A beautiful, compact cottage with plenty of space. The hosts had left milk (from the next door farm), bread and jams to welcome us. The location of the property was perfect for visiting all the beauty of Saddleworth.
