Absolutely loved our stay here and didn’t want the 2 nights to end. Great location to go off and explore elsewhere in Cornwall. The breakfast is fresh made to order per person and it was absolutely divine! We will definitely be back!

St Austell is a great base to explore Cornwall. The town isn't fantastic, but it's 5 minutes from the Eden Project, also 5 minutes to Charlestown , an historic and interesting harbour, Mevagissey is very near, and it's near to several beaches.

St Austell itself is a busy industrial town but it is a good base for visiting many coastal fishing villages and nearby attractions such as Eden & Lost Gardens of Heligan. The interesting harbour village of Charlestown is a must see and Mevagissey is only 4 miles away.

Many interesting places to visit. Lovely coastline with quaint villages. Mevagissey, Fowey, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and The Eden project are must sees! I shopped in St Austell itself. A good variety of shops, in interesting streets and lanes.

We stayed in Mevagissey which is south of StAustel. St Austel is not the best place to visit in Cornwall and is a little run down but there are promises that efforts are being made to improve its image and facilities.

Ours was a short stay so spent most of the time travelling around the area including a boat trip to Falmouth. We enjoyed a 'eat as much as you like' chinese meal at the Water Margin restaurent in St Austell. The service and quality of menu was excellent. Recommended.

Location was fab, on site car parking. Easy check in, a member of staff showed us to our room. Room was spacious and beautifully clean. Very comfortable nights sleep. Lovely meal in the on site restaurant - best mussels ever. Staff were friendly and more than happy to help with anything. Breakfast was delicious and piping hot, great choice of cereals & juice. Would definitely stay again and would recommend the hotel to family and friends.

We liked the fact that the hotel was on the cliff overlooking Charlestown and Carolyn Bay. The hotel was a beautiful building with lots of comfy rooms and the dining area overlooked the sea. Breakfasts were delicious with plenty of choice. Lovely bar area and outside seating. The food in the restaurant was also delicious. Good central property if you like a walk and can tackle the hills and rough paths. Great size car park.

The suite was extensive with a huge bathroom. Rather a bizarre configuration because it comprised various parts of an old house, but very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially accommodating our having breakfast in a separate room as we weren't feeling terribly well. The grounds were lovely, too. A lot of thought and work has been put into this hotel.

The hotel is an old manor house set in a lovely garden and decorated in a unique and quirky fashion which I liked. The staff were exceptionally friendly. The facilities were excellent including a swimming pool. There were Molton Brown toiletries in the shower room together with large, fluffy towels. Breakfast was a feast and I particularly enjoyed their homemade granola.

The food is exceptional The manager is friendly and goes out of his way to help. The room and bathroom were both bigger than most hotel rooms. The curtains ( my pet hate). Actually closed properly and were blackout They had a really good menu for evening meals in the pub/restaurant which are just downstairs so no messing about with walking out in the cold

I was familiar with the hotel, having stayed more than once about 50 years ago and having lived around the corner from it growing up. Breakfast was fabulous value at £7.50 with hot, cold and freshly cooked options. Parking was free which is rare these days and an absolute bonus. I paid £75 a night for a single but was upgraded to a double at checkin.

The rooms are large and comfortable. The Breakfast is particularly good as the bacon and sausage seemed local. It was convenient for us that the hotel is also a pub as there were evening meals on site. It was standard pub food but cooked well so I would eat there again. We didn't get any noise from the pub as its in a different part of the building.

Breakfast was generous - and fresh fruit was lovely. For evening meals, the Kings Arms is a short walk away, and does good beer and decent pub food. For an alternative to pubs, try the Salty Bay Pizza place, a couple of miles away, and very nice pizza and salad
